How'd it go today?

Contractor should be starting on it soon. Incredibly cool clients, Just as long as things are repaired they are happy

Logging in the rain. I don't mind getting wet, but crud clings to you and rain wear adds weight. Seem to get tired faster, just not as relaxed when working is probably why.

We got the painting done today and fixed the come along. I'd like to make a wood run tomorow, but my knee is really acting up after all the ladder time and twisting it, and I'm not sure I am feeling that ballsy, it would be a solo run.

We got a little rain to aleive our fire danger. Good thing as we are working in knee high grass the last couple days. Wetting before and after cuts is getting old

sotc......you can have some of our rain & wind.

12 hrs storm call today. Trees on lines all day. only had to get out the rubber goods once though.

You had better go tomorrow, they are calling for rain Thursday....:X

I know Dave, but I am doing good to walk tonight, I just put on a Lanocain patch and an ACE wrap, I'm not going anywhere tomorow!

Just did the math and the $100 rope I ordered online is gonna cost me almost another $100 to bring it home. Nothing like paying for shipping twice. It'll be nice to have new rope though.

$53 "import fees" to bring my 7lbs rope across the border. No more treegear shopping outside of Canada for me.

That brand new Safety Blue looks sweet! Gonna be a shame to get it dirty.

Had a great day did 3 small good paying jobs, girlfiend gave me a good time also ytopped it off.:P

Finally!
Finished the last waterway clearing yesterday, and started on a smallish logging job today.
Almost couldn't remember how to start my felling saw, it's been that long.
Felt really great to fall big trees again.
Then an hour before quitting time, I TOTALLY misjudged a leaner by a forest road. Thought I could wedge it in easily.
Nope, it took 1½ hours of stedy pounding on wedges before it went where I wanted it to go.
Not the best way to end a day.

Damn knee is worse today, not a good thing as the wife was ready to kill me last night because I was such a cranky ass!
I'm going to call the Doc. and see about getting in to the specialist.
Off to work on a New Holand skid steer, not getting fuel with 720hrs:? Should be an educational experiance for sure!

we had the first frost last night, so I'll be running the woodburning furnace from now on.
That provides heat for the hottub, so I filled that this afternoon.
I just got out of it after a nice long soak, just the thing after the first day of logging.

Got moved to my own little town to work and am parking the truck in my driveway for now. I'm lovin' it.

Changed groundsmen on me too. Guess a guy I was training for a while wanted to come back and work for me because the other foremen he was working with weren't teaching him anything, just using him as a brush burro. Guy works really hard and is a fast learner so am glad to have him on my team.

Filled the truck with chips twice today, which doesn't happen here very often with two guys.

all in all a pretty good day.

Flew the spider today, killed a Beech, and did some random pruning. Worked with the boss, and everyone was adding on work. Just one of those days.

Then I come home, load the mini for my job tommorrow, ramps are cracked which means the mini is stuck in the bed of the truck for now. Call to tell the landscraper I won't make it, he's not happy and I'm pretty fed up with it all. It's work for a condo, he tells me 3 months ago they are gonna need tree work soon. 3 months later he calls me and said it was approved, can you be there this week. Hmm, NO. Long story short, it's one of those jobs that's a head ache in the first place, and they try to tell you when to be there, usually yesterday, and they tell you when they are going to pay, usually 30+ days.

So I kinda told him where to shove it, said if you want to find someone to do this job fine by me, or you can wait for me and it'll be my last job there anyways.

Almost like weight lifted off your shoulders.

Financially it won't make or break my business.

I did the king bed for a while, it was more than I needed and when I bought my house it was too big for the bedroom anyway. Went to a queen size and it's plenty wide enough, better selection of sheets available, and it's easier to make the bed. I'm surprised you still fit in a twin size though.

Ran around and looked at a couple jobs today. I'm going to have to climb a big live oak tomorrow. Looks easy enough, nice high tie in that I can set from the ground and easy rigging angles for the limbs over the roof.
