If you take away all the variables, fear, has just three basic, possible responses.
Fight, flight, or stand still. Everything we do, when confronted, has within it some degree of those components.
Of the three, standing still, tends to have the lowest survival rate.

Might be the first time ever I've been proud of being Danish.
Government have been totally up front about what they knw and what they were doing about it.
Meaning: " We don't know shit about this, but we are doing our best from the information we can get and as long as we all pull together there is a chance we'll get throught it relatively unhurt as a country".
We don't have a bunch of fat idiots with guns running around yelling Hoax and second amensment, and we have a leader who actually cares about her people more than about TV ratings.

I am poor today because I spent a fortune trying to emigrate to California in 1989.
I find it hard to keep that love flowing these days.
You are falling apart and having a president who in a time of crisis turns to dividing people instead of pulling them together, doesn't help.

However, I do not see Trump as the cause but instead a symptom within a failing society. If people don't like what we have and are wondering how to change it, they first need to look inward. Bandaids can only be expected to do so much.
