Near Joint Base Lewis-McChord, between Olympia and Tacoma. Probably 20-25 minutes from Downtown Oly, with and extra 10-15 from home to downtown. I grew up 4-5 miles from a VA in Chicago. I didn't know how scarce or available they are.

Never having been a severe accident, I've only had to go the Emergency Room with a split open forearm from 'endo'ing my mountain bike when I was 20, and for a back injury when I was 26, neither mega-urgent.
265 to VA in Fargo, I use the teleconference to talk to the doctors there from the clinic at Minot AFB. Next one west I think is Helena, MT. See the doctor in Minot, just visit Fargo for specialists and occasional procedures. I think records are pretty much all online, so available at any clinic or hospital.

Climbed big sugar pines for the FS today. Did two 150 footers during the course of the day... Pulled nine bushels of good cone off the trees, pretty grueling work actually. Only had a 200' rope, so ascended to 100', then double rope up to the top, work tree, descend down, and exit tree on single rope. Good fun, good money, big trees, peaceful out in the woods.

I'm still plugging away putting brakes on the Jeep .You talk about a pain in the buttocks that's one of the most difficult vehicles I've ever worked on .I've wrenched on a bunch of them too .Cadillacs,Fords ,Hondas ,dump trucks ,bulldozers and about 40 zillion chainsaws --well not that many .

In addition to the damned Jeep I did manage to split and stack about 2 face cords of firewood .Not too bad for an old coot .

Jeeps are a love hate relationship. They were built to just replace stuff as need... Strip it down and do over.. Not tinker with all the little crap.. LOL

Well the things are built about like a tractor .They last forever but it's just a pain in the azz to get to anything .They changed very little from the original WW2 Jeep clear up to the CJ 5 .
The good thing is you can get about any part for any model ever made including a frame if you need one .
I'm going to have over 200 bucks in just the brakes and I'm doing the labor .I'll bet a rebuild like this would be over 500 at a shop .

Glad you Ok man! I held on to a branch recently that crossed another while on a take down. I sized it up and thought oh yeh I got this then realized I just cut through the wrong one that was twice as big! I tossed the Silky out the tree and was hanging try to balance myself. Glad I didn't drop it on the roof but I would been fine unlike being over service lines. Be safe

Sean- I have a buddy who used to do seed collection up and down the entire west coast. He hooked me up with a forest tech in sisters that was in need of a couple climbers. They aren't set up well to access big trees quickly, so I'm hoping to make this a little niche a couple times a year...Not sure about Dorena, I would assume they get sent down there to be processed/sorted/frozen.

Today we finished up and chipped a limbing job and then a drop and walk.. came home early and worked on a truck, chipper blades and some odd ball shat... Fixed dinner... yada yada yada... Katy and kids have had colds... Just get through it and do Friday.
