How'd it go today?

Well the 650 decided I didn’t put enough money into it yet. Damn key switch (fairly new) decided to stick in the start position and with my earmuffs on did not hear it. After about twenty minutes there was smoke and the starter went kaput. I happen to have a new switch and the starter should be here tomorrow. This was after work at home trying to get some hours in so I could re-torque bolts this weekend. The dang starter was still hot two hours later. Glad it didn’t catch fire. Hoping the flywheel is ok. Couldn’t see well enough in the dark to check.

Similar happened to me with my Avant last year. 25hp Kubota engine, new starter was over $600!!! Saved the old one to have rebuilt locally for a spare.

Kubota parts have a rep for being high. John Deere too.
atleast you don't have to call the dealer to get your new parts programed with kubota!

buddy of mine has a 3033E, ripped the throttle position sensor off with a stick, bought a new one and installed it, then found out he had to drag it onto a trailer and take it to the dealer so they could program the new sensor, cost him a bunch of money and time that he should have never had to pay

I would like to mention, on my Kubota when I ripped the quick coupler off the end of the boom which took a lot of parts with it, I called the dealer to let them know that I was headed their way and to get a rental fueled up for me

7 days later I had my machine back, the only thing I had to pay for was the grapple bucket for the rental skidsteer, they warrantied the repair and got it done as fast as they could, never once heard of Deere doing that, no way it hasn't happened, I just haven't heard of it myself, which is odd because most of my family is from Moline and worked at Deere in a past life
