How'd it go today?

2 little chipping jobs for another company today, showed up and the brush was stacked oh so nice!
downhill drags on driveways, didn't pull a saw out a single time, both jobs fit in one load, home by 3, the only way today could have been better was if I wore a long sleeve, and charged more, my arms are shredded and I only made $375, but atleast I was only working for 2 hours and it involved no climbing or anything technical, covered my expenses and put a little in my pocket so I'm happy

seriously tho, my forearms feel like I plunged them into barrels of glass shards soaked in lemon juice, short sleeve shirt was a total mistake lol

it seems I've got some sort of chemical burn or something on my left arm, skin gets really rough and painful/itchy, turns bright pink, its this way for a few weeks at a time then goes away for a week or two, been doing this for months, it flared up really bad when I got diesel running down my arm while draining the water separator on the chipper

its maybe 30% of my left forearm, wondering if maybe all that welding without a welding jacket finally caught up to me? I've never had a really bad sunburn from it, or I thought, but I'm 2nd guessing it now

its random, but with how scraped up my arm got today, its extremely noticeable, nothing new, wondering if maybe one of you has or had something similar?
not the greatest picture, little tricky to get the color to show on camera, its the patch of skin that looks like goosebumps, hopefully it uploads clear enough

I have no ideas but truly hope you find an answer.

Pretty intense to evacuate the whole site. But, I guess that’s a lot of weight from a lot of height producing a lot of impact and leaving a lot of unknowns.
It looks like it went straight down on the counterweight's back and the boom's butt. Absolutely zero cushion. It might has done a pretty big bang. Poor thing. My guess, better case, is it's not worth repairing.

For your angry skin, I can't tell. I don't believe at the weld burn in this location though, but it's just a worthless guess.
To protect your forearms I suggest you to find these chainsaw protection sleeves. Beside their prime duty, they are wonderful to haul and drag branches and wood, even if thorny like black locust. Prefer the long one which can reach over the elbow ( they stay better in place for this task) :

A long while ago i had a strange recurrent reaction on the side of a hand and wrist. The skin went sensitive, hot and all sweety, for several hours each times. I found no apparent reason. Then it never came back. No reason why too.

I might have to try those, thanks!

generally I wear a thin long sleeve shirt and it protects my arms plenty, but then again, I just got back into man handling everything, I used to use a machine to pick up everything short of tiny twigs so my arms got a nice break from being scraped up
