Too windy to cut.

Recently bought 288 wouldn’t tune even close. Replaced intake gaskets today, better, now it will tune,but low power. Checked compression, low at 135. Checked piston to cylinder roof aka combustion chamber “squish” with solder in thru the spark plug hole. We want .020”, it’s over .030”. So needs thinner base gasket. It also has a no name piston so maybe the ring is not good either.

Race 281 getting worked on too. L wouldn’t tune. Took the slightly larger stihl carb off and put a 288 carb on. Also found a slight weep in the fuel line and fixed that. Saw runs now, 4- strokes at 14,800. Zing!

Cost analysis says good return. Need more info on the foot print. As there are more than one foot print.
