How'd it go today?

Thanks guys. Mom got released today. We sat there for 4 hours after they said she could go, because of paper work crap. They said it was all caused by some medicine one of her doctors prescribed. Drained her potassium levels, something the doctor should have known.

Getting ready to go out to eat here soon.

Not all but some... Yup.. Pert much

One would medicate my grandma right back into the hospital on a pretty regular schedule.
I kinda blamed grandma for that too, never switching her Dr or listening about her meds.

Went into town, an excellent woodworking seminar by a couple guys who really know their shat. Did some errands...saw the beauty at the hardware store again. I'm coughing.....:(

Made it back home this morning.

Job up north went really well. Picked a bit of music in the evenings. Turned down four other jobs from people stopping and watching me climbing. School starts Monday and I don't want to commit to jobs that might take up too much time.

Going to play doghouse bass and sing on a few shows with some guys up there.

It looks a bit different here.......maybe just imagining it......:?

Stephen,

The jobs are all 100 miles from home and I will be too busy taking 15 credit hours this semester to take on large jobs that far away. Two were bigger than I would want to do anyway. I know of other good arborists in that area and referred the people to who I thought might be the best guy for each job.

first day of 2 weeks vacation. Slept alot and now having a nice smoke & drink. Off to the south west on tuesday for 10 days (Cornwall, UK) for some R&R, surfing and most importantly time with my girl, Jo. Hope to get some time online first, but if not will post the pics afterwards.

Mrs. Smith bless her heart called of all places Sears and Roebuck to get a bid on the windows for the addition .The poor guy walked in the house and I'm sure felt like a petunia in an onion patch .All Sears sells is vinyl windows .That would be to this house about like putting recapped tires on a new Cadillac .He couldn't even come close to the Jeld-Wens we are looking at .Pricey, yes but I only figure on doing this once . If they last 40 years and I'm still among the quick verses the dead ,I win .Imagine that 102 years old and still ornery as a snake .

I saw some good waves once when passing through Cornwall. Have a nice trip.

I hope so. I don't surf well and it will reduce the amount of swimming

I am a little melancholy this evening. What I have been listening too

Al, you are absolutely right. Good windows can't be beat. They are worth the extra $$$'s.

I just finished my busiest week in some time. I now have plenty of work to do for the foreseeable future. I was reasonably busy before last week's windstorm and now i am slammed. I have about 20 bids to do next week on things that aren't emergencies in addition to working every day. I probably should hire another guy but won't because I have a few OK fillers. My stump grinder guy does a little tree work and hauls most of my wood. Today he called and needed climbing help. He brought his three man crew over to help me bust out my job and then we went over and knocked out his job. Having a six person crew was fun, especially since I am not paying all of them. His crew is all Bulgarian and my guys love it when I tell them the Bulgarians are coming to help.

I just got an e-mail out of the blue from the grandson of one of the guys I served with some 40 years ago on the U- boats .Never knew the old boy ,isn't that something ?

Darin, that kind of one-hand-washing-the-other relationship has netted me a lot of jobs, and some good friends over the years.

Nothing wrong with having plenty of work, either.
