How'd it go today?

3 strand manila to climb on was quite the giant PITA, especially when stiff and new.

I "made" a candle last night. Fairly pleased with the results. Melted the dregs of candle jars on the wood stove, and poured them into another container. I reused the wick ferrules and used cotton butcher twine(better stuff than the boss' :^P ). Ended up with a cavity from chunks falling in, but it leveled out with burning. Currently smells like spice cake. I think apple, pine, cranberry, and 'woodsy stuff' are on the menu at some point :^D

So far, none on the one's Ive removed. Little torn shingle, a dent in metal, abrasion. Buddy I need to clear some ground for, his truck, two boats and a mower all got squished under a metal carport that was snow load rated. Lots of that around here.
I have more on my list. So as I get more done, pretty sure I'll find some damage.

Been there, done that. No fun and you feel like shit. Learn from it, make it right and move on. Most the time, if you make right on something, thats golden and over shadows the accident.
ran out of bucket, side lean with 30mph wind (almost constant, I could barely hold the limbs I was cutting off)
decided to flop it whole, pull rope tied to truck winch across the yard, right as she goes the side weight pulls it off the stump and bang, right on the roo

Bummer. Oh well. Consider it a learning experience. They aren't all free. What did you learn?

I learned that if you want a job done right do it yourself lol
shoulda pulled more to the right of lay, instead of inline, OR rented a tall enough lift for 4 hours, had my 55ft bucket maxed out with 30-40ft to spare

Might have been better to walk away from the job if you thought extra insurance was needed. Sounds like the wind was a challenge. Use that as an excuse to the client, and come back the next day with the rope.
