How'd it go today?

Hmm... I don't have the stuff to repair .325, and I only have an 18" bar. Got a .325 bar you aren't using, that isn't completely thrashed?

I'd be interested in the 18 if it isn't thrashed. I have that 026 that's wearing an EOL bar. Ideally, I'd switch the saw over to 3/8lp, but the bar seems like it'll be tricky without using an am bar and modding it. I could also go to 3/8, and all the materials are available, but I dunno how much I'd like it. The goal is to use my existing infrastructure of chains and files, but I might be too dogmatic in keeping everything consistent. It isn't a primary saw saw for me, so if I have to buy the occasional loop, it isn't a huge deal.

The 18”

The 18” bar is in excellent shape as is the 16” and 20” ... I have 7 chains available ... As I have mentioned previously I no longer run this bar/chain combo ... If you wish to reach a mutually beneficial arrangement I’m all ears

On the subject of credit cards, I like paypal credit in the sense that they have options like 6 months no interest if paid in full. I think even up to 36months as long as you make monthly payments. What other card does that? Well, they don't give you a card on that account. I have their other carded credit account, but no such offers.

So you’re gonna be f’ed in the cashless society you keep telling us about.

What’s to hide anyway? We earn our money and pay our taxes. Who cares if they see I have been to a supermarket or gas station?

Because I'm an asshole, and it's none of their business. A trail of purchases and locations can tell a rich story after the machines have processed the data, then it's available for profiling and sale, and it's available forever since machines don't forget.

Define "tin foil hat wearer". I don't believe in conspiracy theories, but profiling and tracking are a real thing, documented in white papers and legitimate sites, not just from raving preppers. Data is forever, and just because things are ok now(are they?), it doesn't mean they always will be, and the data sits there waiting to be used/abused. "Privacy policies"(LoL!) are just words on a page that can change with a simple edit, and laws are meaningless because they have no teeth. If they violate their policy, you might get a get a year of credit monitoring(cue jerking off motion) through a class action suit, while the machines are sitting there quietly remembering for the next time.

What’s the big deal anyway ? Guy buys a few cord of wood from me and pays cash , I take cash and buy new pair of logging boots ... Why complicate everything with credit cards when it don’t need to be ? I follow the KISS rule as in “keep it simple stupid” outskis !

I guess that is perfectly fine if you declare it all. Otherwise, it is seen as a way to lower your perceived income and pay less taxes.

In Norway that would be seen as tax evasion and prosecutable with a jail sentence.

Correct you live in the US and according toWikipedia, the same laws apply.

Look, I don’t really care if you have a credit card or not, declare cash income or not...

Your choice. Crack on brother. I just find it funny that you are warning us all about what is to come and that they are watching us, yet posting it in a forum that will be in the archives for all eternity.

I find it intriguing that you keep bringing it up? Give it a rest already ... As to paying taxes in NY for firewood your statement is incorrect - as long as it’s used for home heating ... Now if I was selling 500-1000+ face cord a year (or producing on a grand scale) a tax ID number would be required and quarterly taxes paid ... Like I said previously, I do not reside in Norway nor am subject to Norwegian laws. Enjoy the socialist utopia ! I’m going outside to cut more wood :)

Yet you will choose Wikipedia when it fits into your argument?

I thought you had gone out to chop wood?

Have a great afternoon, I am sat by the fire waiting or my Keema Peas to finish cooking. The kids are kicking around the house and winter is on its way in our Socialist Utopia.

It’s raining / snowing now so no cut cut ... As far as Wikipedia is concerned I said I wouldn’t take it as gospel ... You stated according to Wikipedia US residents need pay taxes on firewood, a statement that is proved incorrect via link I so graciously provided , consider it a learning experience ... Heaven’s knows I barely have time to correct my own mistakes ... let alone police the entire house !!!
