How'd it go today?

February and I'm out in a tshirt and jeans trying to load grain into troughs without ending up on my head.....or worse yet, a tractor on my head. It was like working in frothy chocolate pudding, but didn't smell quite the same, I'm sure.

Che, perhaps you could get a couple girlfriends to join you and then maybe you could sell tickets.

Brian, I hate to admit it, but that 'activity' did come to mind. This stuff would have been perfect....if it wasn't so cold, and such a high percentage of cow poop.

Gary....Forget the poop shoveling....you can come and direct traffic while the herd is trying to squeeze through the gates into the feedlot. It would be good practice for you.

(Congrats again!!)

I be liking my smart phone. took some getting used to but I think I have most of the internal gadgets worked out. I use it tons for text messaging and email though, if I didnt I would likely have a more regular phone.

I've had too many problems with all the foo-foo stuff in the hi-tech phones. I've turned to buying Nokia 6010s on eBay (about $20)....they're tough, they send calls, they receive calls. Works for me.

same here i just got mine a few weeks ago and it took awhile to get used to it but now hooked to my laptop and printer in the truck the estimates are done right on sight and even signed right then and there

Plowed all morning, literally from when it first turned to morning. Now I'll watch a movie catch a few zzz's and then they're calling for another four inches so probably repeat everything tomorrow. 8)

flipped on the tv, checked out the 'on demand video' and saw that Breaking Bad is available free. watching the pilot now. :D

So... been here in Canton for a few days, here's my update.

Class is going well, the instructor is awesome. I'm in with a great bunch of guys. :D

The town is nice. I went out and enjoyed Fat Tuesday last night.

I also found out my May class is going to be across the State, somewhere about 2 hours south of Al Smith... Hamilton Oh.

just got a call from the wife, she is stuck at her barn with a car that wont start (my guess from the symptoms is dead battery), funny thing, she just had it in the shop this moorning for a tune up and oil change, they put new plugs, plug wires, fuel filter, distributor, rotor and cap and such in it to the tune of $400. :X its just gone about 345 here, rush hour in full swing and snowing.

For me to drive my truck to get her at this point would take me about an hour or hour and fifteen.

She called the shop already (I have been dealing with the owner for over 15 years and trust him and his word) and he is sending two mechanics out to get her (their drive will be about 45 mins from the shop), pre-rented a car if she needs it and will keep the shop open until she / they get the car there if it needs work. If it needs any parts or a battery it will have to be tomorrow as the supply shops and the repair shop normally close at 4.

My guess is someone effed up putting in the wiring and the battery / alternator werent able to do their thing. I cannot for the life of me see how they could do the work they did today and then have the starter crap out 3 hours later. :?

FWIW its a 97 civic, 1.6L 4 cyl.

oh well, I shall watch the snow, work on the comp and await an update.

Shoot, sometimes those starters just up and die outta nowhere!

Bummer to hear, I hope the mechanics get her fixed up in no time!!!

That sucks, but atleast if they were working on it today it's more than likely something simple and sounds like your shop is already looking after you.8)

yup, I am hoping its simple. she is going to call me when they get there and let me know if they can see anything with a quick look in the field. if not then its back to the shop and a rental car overnight.
Kinda gubbered up my dinner plans too. I guess just timing really, she will be about an hour later than I thought. Making a nice pasta with alfredo sauce (with some scallops, shrimp and prawns) along with a small shrimp and citrus salad and.. a couple bacon wrapped scallops. :)

Decided to wait till after baby's room is painted on saturday before I vacuum the joint, we have extra furniture strewn about the rest of the apartment and its just a PITA to get around. only other chore beyond dinner is cleaning the latrine. someones gotta do it!

I displaced a skwerl's nest today. Well, I do that almost every day but this one had a baby in it and momma didn't want to leave her baby. I was trimming a long overgrown Washingtonian palm and saw the nest. I idled the saw and pushed the nest off to the side with the chainsaw bar like I usually do. I heard the baby cry and then saw it down on the ground. Momma was only a foot or two below me watching the displaced nest until she heard the baby. We both headed down to the ground and I saw that the baby had a slightly cut front paw. Momma spent a minute tending to her baby and then grabbed it up in her mouth and headed off under the pile of cut fronds.

Anyway, I felt bad for hurting a baby skwerl. After a short break I finished trimming the palm and left. I hope he's ok and momma can whip up another nest for them.

Pretty easy day today!!! Finally a day where nothing major went BOOM!!!
I rode the boss hard about geting some things ordered for us. I will have my own Lock out kit Friday, he even ordered me a BLACK paddlock!! He is getting a blue, green and yellow one for everyone else. He saw the black one "Well man, thats the one we have to get for you!"
I got there at 3:30 am, the roads where not as bad as I thought. The BIG boss was there already, and a crew had shown up to plow the parkig lots:\:
After the problems I have had with this company, that was nothing but shock!!!
Everyone else was freaking out that the boss was in, but I knew why, so I played with him a bit!!!
Walked right in to his office, "What the hell did you do?" He looked at me in disbelief, "About what?" "Well, they are here plowing the place, did you threaten them with bodily harm or what? I need to know so I can do it next time!!"
I guess you had to be there, I thought it was funny!
Anyway, a nice pleasant day at the office, it was nice!

Scarry aint it?

Should have been with me the day the HR lady and I went to Lowes!!
We were buying a 12 gallon water heater to replace the one that blew out for the offices.
Cashier looks at us and says "My, thats an awful small water heater!"

I just couldn't stop myself!!!!! It was too late!!!

"Yeah, we don't bathe much!"

I think the HR lady was trying to figure out if she should laugh or hit me:lol:

Wow Andy, for a big outfit I can't beleive that you don't have locks? Like you've worked on their machinery without them providing you any sort of lock out? That's gotta be a huge no no.
