The Official Work Pictures Thread

I ran my hotwoods 441cm last week on a couple of ash removals (member Jonny did some topping so we wouldn’t take out the small pine trees on the fall - ty Jonny) ... Saw was back in the shop and I was intending to top it off - snap-ola ... the cap grenaded into several pcs and was unusable ... had this happened in the field ida Ben F’d ... Fortunately the local dealer had em in stock and a replacement was purchased , the plastic had sheared away - piss poor design imho ... Don’t know how the engineers at STIHL can be so smart and clever on one hand yet come up with a caca s/u like this ! 24AE62F6-D8B7-45A7-9ED5-97B4824FB63E.jpeg

It's the first time that I see lines of softwood still alive along the included barks in the log. As there's no growth possible here, it's usually converted in heart wood.

Lol at Rich!... Yeah... Husky’s never even put out descent guide bars to my very limited knowledge, until the “tech-light” top-handle bars which they made for about six months, and then discontinued.:? Even then... I’m pretty sure that they were just made by Windsor (Canada) like all of their old heavy weights.

Cory: Yeah, I think I’m getting old. A guy goes through phases, ya know?... I used to take so much pleasure in lining everything up right, taking my time, jigging everything up on wedges, getting it perfect, but... Then I hit my millennial reactionism phase... Now it’s like: just get it on the ground as soon as possible ya pansies, AND QUIT TAKIN PICTURES!!!😂... oh what a hypocrite I am.

S'all good, ya hit yer shot safely and fast, nothing to argue with there

Hydraulic belt doesn’t have to be really tight, it’s just turning the pump.

Keep an eye on those grease tubes, they can split behind the grease bank, I put the nipples directly into the bearings.

Don’t overgrease the rotor bearings.

Anyway hope it’s going well, they chip great (but not a great chipper if you know what I mean)

If I had a shop like that Rich, Id be digging into my diesel right now getting injectors out.
Envy

Not my shop mate, unfortunately. It is on the farm where one of the guys i work with has his gear. Presently keeping my chipper there whilst my garage is being built.

As he is a farmer and fixes everything on his own there is welding kit, lathes, fabricating materials plus almost every tool you would need. Big plus is it is heated, we were down to single layer when it was rain and 1c outside.

Oh i know that Paul, I've got several diesels. I've just had to do about everything to my 7.3, so I've been there, and if i remember Stephen has a really nice 7.3 still

I’m by no means an ace mechanic but I remember my 2003 f550 giving the dreaded p1505 code and the lunacy that involved.... Luckily a buddy lent me his f250 and I started swapping parts till it ran....
