How'd it go today?

Hinoki is a very aromatic wood, a type of Cypress, the most valuable evergreen and softwood species in the country. You don't pick up the smell though, unless the wood gets cut. The forest floor is like someone laid out a carpet, hardly anything growing, mostly just old needles.

Correction on my last .The manilucie is a hybred but disease resistant .The marglobe not margold is a non hybrid and the parent stock for most modern cross breeds very hardy .

The marglobe is a 73 day to maturity .The manilucie is 82 days and best suited for growing in the heat of the southern US because they have large folage that protects the fruit from the intense heat of the dixie sun .

I had wondered why for example that seldom do you see vines growing on a walnut .Some trees like black cherry seem to attract vines like poison ivy .Actually too seldom seen around the base of most walnuts will you see many understory growths such as sugar maple . The few I have on the property seem to have wide area around them with just a few plants or grass if they are in an area with enough sunlight to support growth .I'll take a peek here in a little bit just to see what's up .

My day job boss has asked for help identifying a bush. It's a blury cell phone pic. Keep in mind that Oklahoma has been very hot and dry this year.

She says this is a 6 foot tall by 7 foot wide bush. Each cluster of dried up blooms has 2 green leaves.

She advises that it is not a crepe myrtle, azalea, lilac, or rhododendron.

Anyone have a clue what it might be?

Another good day today.

Small clean up in the morning, a silver maple take down at my neighbors in the afternoon, followed by a job we picked up at the other neighbors. Three trees, knocked one out and left the log standing. I'll finish it up some other time.

Good day today. Got to sleep in due to rain. Went and replaced my passenger mirror that got cracked awhile back, so glad thats done. Worked from 12 to 5 doing easy stuff, so no biggie there. Went and looked at some grills also, looking to pick one up soon hopefully. Also scheduled to get cable tv over at the new place, something i've missed for awhile. going to enjoy watching GreenBay whoop some ass again this year!

Spent the day sort of being a bucket monkey for the first time. Flying a Genie S85. Nice reach too. Two set ups, three trees. Two black oaks and a canyon oak dead wood and prune. Had to leave the bucket/platform twice in the black oaks. The second black oak at the end of the day, I could not quite reach the back side of the tree with out having to set up again. Set a high TIP and had Rob lower the lift while I did a couple limb walks and finished the tree. Rap out.. collect money. HO had the lift on site while he is building his house and made a special schedule date before it has to go back :D got pretty smooth with it by 1/2 way through the day. Had to rethink how to position myself in the tree  Fun and nice to get paid experience :D Broke my camera yesterday sooo no pics for a while :(

My landlord from the lot where I park my trucks offered me this bay for $125 a month! Looks like the truck fits, better take it!

Yesterday was election day here.
I did my civil duty and went down to vote.
Now you guys have been calling me a ( pinko leftie veggie whatever) commie since forever, but in fact we have had a government for the last 10 years that was only marginally to the left of yours.

Not no more!!!!

The socialists won big this time around.

It is hard to win an election when you have run the economy down,by engaging in several wars around the world and giving tax reductions to the rich.

Sound familiar ,maybe?

So you can go on calling me a commie, I voted as far left as I could get and still put my X inside the paper on the ballot.

And we won!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:

Hooray for Leftie X's!

I'm tired, no work tomorrow thank goodness.
I jackhammered and air spaded probably 100 feet long by 2 feet deep.
We're running irrigation main lines through some big daddy cypress.

Happy Friday.

Well, it can't get worse, is my take on it.
The last government lived off the high times before the economic recession, giving tax cuts to the rich and basically buying votes by giving cuts to all kinds of groups, while at the same time whacking the little working guys by hollowing out social security and medicare.
Then when the financial crisis came, they refused to up taxes on the rich and basically dumped the whole thing on us low class working dudes and dudettes.
We used to have a fairly classless society, good education possibilities for EVERYBODY, not only for the rich kids. Good medicare and a safety net for when you got hurt and couldn't work no more.

During the last 10 years, the right wing government managed to f... all of that up+ get us involved in George Bush's stupid wars.

So yes, I honestly think it'll get better.
