The knee is making progress. I can do more and more every day, but have to make sure to rest it. Gonna do a small job w/ Erik on Monday.
4.5 hours of lacrosse practice this morning. Watched Erik mess w/ the bucket, laid on the couch and watched lacrosse all afternoon. 30 of my son's 7th grade classmates came over for a party/dance get together thing that the wife cooked up. I laid on the couch, watched some more lacrosse and drank beer for that fun-filled event.
Is lacrosse fun to watch for the uninitiated?

Played daddy all day and rested (sort of...). Made pot roast. Sharpened a set of chipper knives.. Did some laundry. Watched the goats defy the electric fence we are trying here. Did the dishes 2X. Changed diapers and made bottles of formula. Put the kids on the swing and pushed ... Shirli came by and had a beer after she cleaned the other house on the property. Served dinner.....

Probably a little confusing since it has some quirky rules. Lots of action, speed, amazing shooting and the occasional great hit. Fastest growing youth and high school sport in the US right now.

Darin, last nights job went well. I wouldn't have climbed the sucker and the truck was just high enough to cut and throw.
As for today, I learned what a great mechanic I am. I can put a transmission in a truck twice in one day

Nope, I need to get some tranny fluid, bolt up the starter, put the floor pan back, replace the rear u-joint, and i'm sure something else will pop up. I may have finished if I hadn't forgot the throw out bearing and didn't have to help the wife with her 4-h stuff

No way would I have climbed that tree Squishy, and I ain't right in the head!!
Went to a funeral this AM, weirdest damn thing I have ever seen!! Four ministers, two hours long, the family was at the door greeting everyone as they came in. Just odd all around! Probably 200 people there!
Then a buddy came over and we worked on his lawn mower, his cousin called. Their uncle neded some trees down, NOW!! The uncle has been a good freind for years and VERY good to me through the years. He's one of the guys I can call anytime for automotive help and he has an answer NOW!! ANYTIME!!! So he calls and tells me the house is getting moved and two trees are in the way, both over 24" and I may not get one as it has a branch over the power lines.
The boys all got here and we geared up. God I need to start taking the camera with me
18" Elm, and a 20" Hackberry. The Elm was cake, notch and drop, slice it up then flush cut it.
The boys were SUPPOSED to have a pull rope set in the Hackberry while I dropped and sliced the Elm. I had to spike the second tree to set the rope. I did better, but gaffed out on the way down, I think I still have bark in my arm pit
Had to drop it against the lean, it was a bit heavier than I thought
I made a HUGE face the started on the back cut. (half way through) Well it set back on me before I could get a wedge in. I started to yell at the boys to pull and saw they had all they could in it "OH, I'll come help!!"
It went right were we needed it and nobody had any serious injuries. I am so glad this wasn't on video!!!! God I must provide hours of entertainment for you guys!!

I was thinking to myself that other than the pilot bearing being a pain to get out that things were going along smooth and how east these 2wd trannys were. Then I got ready to put the fork in...... Managed to just slide it back without taking the cross member back out phew!

Its all greek to me. So trucks have something called a transmission? I am learning new stuff everyday. It sounds like something I'd hire someone else to do.

Darin, your truck has 3, 1 for low gear, one for high gear and one for reverse. If the reverse tranny goes out just remember to park where you don't have to back up
Andy, COME DOWN ON ROPE! I also prefer to go up on rope(Gaff climbing is nice and secure when you are tied in above you and tend your slack). Climbing to set a pull line is sort of majorly whack in my world. Even before the Big shot there were throwlines, monkeys' fists and pole saws for setting lines. (I'm not talking about Jerry's redwood world).

Today went better. Killed three piddly firs and pruned two maples and then re-pollarded a weeper. Bid a few jobs too for neighbors so all and all a hell of alot more productive than yesterday.

YUP!!! Put down the rosin, lay the glass, put down more rosin, let it kick. Put down rosin, another layer of glass 180 deg. to the original and work in your topcoat/gelcoat or plastic coat. Sand and fill as needed!
Haven't done Jack! I am sore as hell!! My right arm and that side of my chest is bruised from yesterdays fun. Then being an idiot I stayed up and watched the China Grand Prix. It was crazy!
