How'd it go today?

I couldn’t get the nut to stick welding to the top of the stripped bolt…. Realized that it was not a broken bolt but an Allen key bolt filled w paint and grease.. so I stripped that after a few cycles of heat and 3:1…. Then I welded the Allen key to the bolt and I was extremely surprised the weld held and the bolt came out. I was happy. Usually I just trash shit and buy new ones…. The heavens have accepted me.

Finding parts fir the 4Runner is proving to be a pain in the ass. Door tag says it has a 7.5", 4.10/1, two pinion differential. The actual diff appears to be an 8", 4.10/1, four pinion differential.

Is there a tag on the diff? Might be a clue in the VIN too.

Vin says A03A. A is 7.5". 03 is 4.10. Second A is two pinion gears.

Internet says 4Runners have 8" diffs.

Levi's Birthday yesterday. So I made his fav, mac and cheese and bought a pie. Was going to ask Kave over too after inquiring when he got home. Seemed he was running late as he was going to take his bike out for a ride. I guess up to Shaver Lake. Well, got a call after Katy and I finally gave up waiting and ate dinner. Bike had broke down. Almost two hours from us. So I went, fetched him and the bike. Not a great way to have a birthday. Home safe is good though
