How'd it go today?

@Porkbrick For sure, fun interview. Crazy that you survived getting shocked
I had no idea how to segue that story into the conversation, so I just blurted it out😆! I had done Dan holidays podcast a few years ago and completely forgot to mention it.
it was certainly a formative event in my life, and most surprisingly a positive one in the end.

Had an uncut stub on a piece of firewood this morning. Maybe 5" long/4" dia. I thought "I can cut this in the house with my electric saw!". Chips sure do travel a long distance :^D Don't notice it as much outside. Yes, I'll do it again, but I need to pay closer attention to saw orientation.

About to declare defeat on the tire. Out of options. No idea why third beat won't seat, even using the tractor as a press. A tube might do it, but I don't have one.

Rough working conditions. Might be the tire is just too inflexible at those temperatures to move enough to seat. Maybe try taking it in beside the woodstove for overnight and try again tomorrow.

Have you tried taking a ratchet strap around the tire and cinching it tight and then filling the tire with air? It works pretty well.

Go with a combination, after a rest and reboot :)...warm it overnight by the woodstove (I think it might be more effective than the hot water treatment, unless you ran water on it for quite a long time, but who knows), then cinch it with the cable come along.

I've used the ratchet strap trick several times...always has worked.

You got this, Dave.

Or just spray some carb cleaner in there, stand back and play flame thrower. It's not as big a deal as you think, just take the valve core out first. Folks forget that step and that's how you make a tire detonate.

I know you said you didn't want too, but it would make this several day adventure into a few moments of excitement and a done task. I've done it with just about everything bigger than a wheelbarrow tire.

Three little squirts of B12 Chemtool...

There is a product for packing the gap that is supposed to help seat the bead. Murphy's concentrated tire and tube mounting compound. $25 for 8 pound pail. You can mix it with water for mounting and dismounting. Stuff it in thick to seal bead leaks. I have some and use it as a lube. Never used it to pack gap before, but the reviews say it is good stuff.

Jaime,
Great interview!!
Where's the trial Max at this point?
Does it look at all like what the production model is becoming with the variations you're incorporating?
I still miss my Go-Fund-Me version which was stolen in LA...

We’re doing some final field testing on it right now. Need to be sure it works right. Next is making a batch of 30 or so to get CE testing going. Still have to decide on how we want color it too. Something different so it stands out as new is the current thinking. Maybe offer the classic color as a limited edition at some point.

Any votes for favorite colors? 😁

I like the purple also. I have a treestuff hitchclimber in orange and green that's pretty sharp. Laying here thinking about it, I bet green and brown would look good.
