How'd it go today?

So I guess it’s no Flush…cut? ((Sorry)
Finished of a lucrative but exhausting week here, beat last years January figures a week early.
Lads off to the UK for a climbing course the whole of February so that month will be a washout.
Still at least I’ll have a plausible excuse for the inspectors!

reminds me of living in 29 palms, one of the houses I lived in had some backwards plumbing and it was a nightmare coin toss weather it was "safe to use" or not

unrelated, trying to clean up this excavator, already got a buyer lined up, damn grease is frozen onto it, tried simple green, super clean and scrubbing, nothings getting it off so I'm just gonna send a slightly grease covered machine to the new owner, going to scrape off what I can without messing the paint up, so cold my simple green froze up and my fingers are hurtin

anyone here sold a machine through Kubota Credit Corp? new buyer can't pay cash so we are working with KCC and my dealer to get kubota to buy it from me, and sell it to the new guy, if kubota says no then I will just have to find another buyer or tell him to get a business loan, and bring me cash, which honestly might be the easier route

Maybe working in conjunction with a hairdryer will get it clean. Might be a hassle if the grease is sprawling all over the place.

its down the side of the body, front of the cab, and the entire boom, considering I don't grease equipment quite as often as I maybe should, theres a lot of grease all over this machine lol

I think I might try the hairdryer thing, I just have a lot of square footage to go over, of course the machine is an inch taller than my shop doors, otherwise I would pull it in and get the wood stove going to warm it up

the cab is going to suck to clean, under the engine covers isn't as bad since I can go crazy with the air hose, but the cab will take a lot more attention to detail, none of it is really that bad for almost 500 hours doing some super dusty work and only cleaning it maybe 3 times

a hotsy has been on the shopping list for 3 years, still haven't made it happen, but I'm going to eventually

Went to retrieve my basswood logs and got a flat tire. Had to walk home. Not sure if I can fix it myself, or not. I hope so, no sawmilling until it's up and running.

Not a fun time of year to be laying on the ground plugging a tire. Rubber doesn't move as nice either.

Cold day of flagging traffic. I don’t mind it though. Worst part is watching the crew work. Maybe it’s because I was bored but they seemed to almost work in reverse at times.
Now I’m sitting in my drive trying to decide if I want to go in and relax or drag the splitter out and make a big pile of wood.

Split the difference, and handsplit a small pile of wood. Not much equipment, you can expend some energy on an energy conserved day, and it's easy to quit any time.

Pressure washer using water from the drain on the bottom of a water heater, with Dawn soap added to the intake line.

Well, Stephen gotted sicky-poo. Hoping I don't catch what's going round, looks miserable.

Today was another day of nit-picking, same place as the day before. Lots of climbing for individual sprigs of mistletoe. And walking, lots of walking. At least the place is beautiful and well maintained.

Came home to a surprise from @davidwyby, my very own Stay Wild shirt! I'll have to put it on and take a photo, but not right now lol.

Supposed to get snow tomorrow, or maybe just rain. Ain't been near cold enough for snow, regardless it's gonna mess with any plans for the weekend.

Chitty lighting, but I did the thing for the Wyby.

Thank you very much David, I appreciate it quite a lot.

The artwork really does speak to me. There is no better representation of the wildness of the desert Southwest, than the noble coyote. Man may have conqured nearly everything, but the coyotes laugh in our faces and go right on singing their desert lullaby. They'll still be laughing and singing as they wander through the rubble of our fallen empires, long after we are ash and dust.

Thanks again @davidwyby! That was a lovely gift to come home to on a Friday.

And once again, the Tree House ROCKS!

if I owned one, that's exactly what I was thinking of doing
They are readily available for rent...and if your library has joined the ever more common "Library of Things" movement where they loan out stuff besides books, like my local library has, you can check one out for nothing.

I hadn't forgotten just how miserable these tires are to work on. A little odd to use the machines that is missing a tire to work on its own tire. I had half the weight of the tractor pushing down trying to seat that bead. No luck. I'm not a fan of the starting fluid trick. I have no desire for my tire, me, or the both of us beating Elon to Mars.
