How'd it go today?

Got rained on yesterday. Punched a hole in a septic this morning and then got rained on all afternoon. Temp dropped a lot. Sick wife and kid. Running the other two kids around for sports. Kinda grouchy

I needed two 2x6 that were dry, straight, and a bit stronger than pine. I went to Lowes. Lowes does not offer such a piece of wood. I was shocked at the poor quality of lumber available. All the better reason to build timber frames. :/:

That is a nightmare scenario (the septic tank)

I work a lot in properties with these and I’m always nagging my employee about knowing where it is and double checking with the client so there’s no confusion.

Repairs usually involve diggers and a lot of mess, and insurance of course.

Hope some kind of patch can be effected.

How did it happen?

The tank was not in the place I was told. I thought I was clear by over ten feet so I started chunking short logs off of one lead. Second one I noticed the ground moved funny when it hit. They grabbed it with the mini and there was a big hole. I’m not to happy but worse things could’ve happened. I guess the septic guy was out today to figure out what can be done. Still haven’t heard of the cost yet. I don’t like doing any type of property damage and it doesn’t happen often so I’m trying not to let it bother me.

Today went better. Got started late on a large oak removal. Yard was wet so lots of mats and being extra cautious with the mini skid. Job is going well and we should finish by lunch tomorrow.

If you are not given accurate information on the location of any underground infrastructure, and you proceed to utilize the "safe" zone to work on, then it is not your fault at all if it turns out to not have been "safe".

No professional likes to cause damage, but in reality, whomever gave you the erroneous info is the one who caused said damage.

Murdered an oak. Pictures were taken. Fun was had.
I had some hope, that pics would post. But I am sad.
On my spurs, in sturdy small wood. I was glad.
But the forum is dying, withered away. That makes me mad.
To lose this place, and all of its glory, now that would be bad.

Love to you all, let's do tree stuff together, I'm here for it.

I really don't understand why you don't want to use any of the existing apps to upload photos? I usually use postimages.org and I just uploaded this photo using another app without any problems. By the way, this is a photo of a butt and a kalimator sight for a new rifle for installing rope on trees. I have been working hard on this project in recent days. Unfortunately, I don't have enough time at all. I will probably take a sabbatical to finalize this project) I call this project Arboblaster)

I don't want to use an app because I don't want to send my photos off into a mystery box...who knows where they go?

I'm not sure why morning me thinks nighttime me wants to put sheets on the bed. I never do. I just want to go to bed when it's bedtime. :/:

When you post photos online, whether through the app or directly, these photos are still publicly available. In addition, after posting a photo here, this photo can be deleted in the application through which these photos were uploaded.

Because I’m not going backwards in time.

User interfaces should get easier to use, not more difficult. If I’m learning new ways to do something online it’s to improve the experience, not to do what I could do before easier.

Kaveman is being facetious, but I understand the principle he’s espousing.

I know Carl is doing his best, he’s stuck between a rock and a hard place at the moment.

An interesting situation has developed - I really want to show a photo here, but I'm going to suffer stupidly while waiting for Carl to sort out the hammer and anvil.😀 Or you can just take and upload a photo right now in the ancient way. Sometimes, to take a step forward, you need to step back.

I am not sure if they are edible or not. I took a picture to try to identify them to see how they are an aggressive type of wood decay fungi.
