Tree felling vids

It is often the case that it is hard to tell from pictures and video the whole picture with what is going on
Why I often use phrases like... "it looked like"

Nice shot! That saw sounds like it might have relatively low compression.

Compression is ok... Tree was real pitchy and stringy. Probably should have just gone back to the truck and got the 044.

I see. The high revs sounded good outside the log, like you really have it dialed in, but it seemed to be dropping down pretty quick when cutting. Just a little small as you say, my mistake.

As I was cutting the face I was thinking somewhat the same like WTH? Then I pulled the saw out and it the bar was just covered in gunk. I had it buried in an oak the day before and it butchered it nicely.

Looks like fairly flat/level ground on that second video. Pretty sure he wanted that thing to lay out as level as possible along the whole length as possible to avoid breakage.

From my experience any old growth redwood you find in a stand of second growth today was left to stand for a good reason. Sometimes because there was no lay for the tree Other times because the tree is too dangerous to fall or just too full of defect to make it worth the while. Either way those odd big'uns in the brush are usually not easy.
