I have seen the video before but not in the speeded up format.

For some reason X won’t load so I cannot see the comments.

What is the general tone of them??

There was also a video responding to a comment from Sean Strickland about how he would beat a trained Navy seal. The Navy Seals said BS so he called them out.

One brave Seal actually turned up and the UFC fighter beat the living shit out of him for the entire duration of the spar.

Respect to the Seal though, he didn’t quit.

Some, but not all, were a bit butthurt about it, saying in a real fight the marines would have gouged his eyes out etc.

What impressed me was first of all his complete confidence, and the stamina to do 10 fights one after the other, seemingly without fatigue.

That doesn’t surprise me regarding the comments.

It is the same with any of these things really. There are always some armchair expert saying in a real fight, blah blah blah!

It wasn’t a real fight though? Most armed forces learn CQC with or with out a weapon. The point of the exercise was to demonstrate that BJJ can be useful as well as the eye gauging etc. Imagine if a cop poked someone’s eyeball out where as using proper technique they could just detain them without causing injury.

I don’t know why people can’t just appreciate the fact that Paddy Pimlett just rolled with 10 Royal Marines, back to back and just subbed everyone of them.

Royal Marines are rough/tough dudes whose general level of fitness and strength is far greater than the average Joe in the street.

Imagine if those Marines were at a higher level in grappling as well as the survival techniques the commentators mention.

They would be absolute beasts.

@Mick!

Here is the other fighter vs SEAL clip I mentioned.

Notice he said they could last with him in his MMA training? The older dude automatically start talking about a street fight.

The full 25 minute video is out there somewhere. But I think the Navy Seal, who was also an MMA fighter sums it up best at the end.

That was Paddy Pimblet taking on the 10 marines in a row. Here's a vid of his recent ufc fights. Watching it I now realize he's very good, he can bang and he can grapple and he's definitely a fighter. There are time stamps supplied if you don't want to watch the whole thing but the first fight is a Rd 1 savage submission of a very accomplished fighter

He's legit for sure. Handled the potentially dangerous chandler no problem.

Did you watch?

Same. I wanted to buy it but now I'm on a budget ;)

I haven’t bought a UFC event in years.

I like to see the UK guys doing well and the obvious big fights.

But there are two many douchebags in the UfC for me. Colby Covington for one. Jon Jones (ok he is really good). But all he does is avoid fights and hold up divisions. I haven’t even mentioned his outside the cage antics.

There are some awesome fighter but I hardly know any of them these days as the number of cock wombles puts me off.

I hear ya but the Colbys of the mma world bother me not. Plenty of interesting, fun, talented fighters out there. Sorta like Paddys on the rise. Jean Silva, who crushed his opponent saturday night, is one.

Colby is 97% irrelevant now imo.

I hope the upcoming new ufc broadcast deal does away with ppv. Maybe the fights will be on netflix.

Both Haakon and Torstein competed in the BJJ Oslo Open 2025 today.

Haakon had his first match after recovery from knee surgery. He is also an adult now and in the blue belt category. He won the first match via footlock after being in a deep guilotine.

Second match he dominated for the majority and even had the guy in a footlock. He didn’t tap and Haakon popped the guys foot. Then with 40 seconds to go in a 6 minute match managed to steal 2 points ta and took the victory. Bronze medal. 1 win 1 loss and his knee held up well. Showed good jitz and is happy. His opponent hobbled off the mat and then staggered outside and threw up.🤮

Torstein was bumped up and age group and weight class. He is 13 and came up against an experienced 15 year old. He lost on points but listened to the coaches and defended multiple submission attempts. He was a bit disheartened but agreed he learnt a lot.

Bronze medal again as he got a couple of bye’s in the early rounds.

Thanks Mick.

Yes it was good it was not damaged.

He recovered quite well after his first knee surgery and then competed in 3 or 4 tournaments. Then ruptures the meniscus again which required a second surgery. He took the rehab just as serious but did’t rush back into competition quite so quick.

So he basically focused on his school work rather than rushing back to competition.

So fingers crossed it is properly healed this time.

I clicked on this and it turned out to be pretty good. I'd heard of Benny U but knew nothing about him. He's a fighting wizard plus he presents some very interesting philosophy at 19:45.

A couple of pictures captured by the event photographer.

Haakon got caught in a guillotine. It was pretty deep. As you can see from the picture.

It wasn’t surprising that he looked like he was gonna pass out when his head popped out and he got the guy in a footlock.
