Not as fancy as Dave's new "turbo" but I will give this a try out to see if it saves any aggravation when adjusting chain tension with full wraps. Meet the overpriced wratched scrench.

I like it for swapping bars but not as much for just retensioning. The ratchet feature is faster when replacing the bar nuts but less handy just going back and forth.

Every once in a awhile I think about a ratcheting scrench, and then think about all the times I've almost lost my cheapie screnches in the woods. I think "Nah, maybe later...". The blade's supposed to fit in a bar groove, which is cool. I like cleaning the bar every time I have to take it off for whatever reason.

.063” only I think

Yeah, unless you file things down this isn't the proper tool really. Dedicate something else for the purpose.

I have that chainsaw "swiss army knife"(TopSaw) I carry into the woods, and wear climbing when I remember. Everything in it works, and there's a lot of tools in a small area, but it isn't that nice to use. It's best attribute is it's there. Sheath sucks too. I lost my old one on the trail job when it flipped over and fell out of the sheath. I did like enough to buy a new one, so I guess that's an endorsement of sorts. Remove the washers from between the tools, and you can fit a wire in it. Good for cleaning oil holes and picking crud out from under the cover.

I’ve got a few of the topsaw Swiss army screnches. I like them. Best thing is the bar cleaning tool in there. I also have one of those fancy ratchet screnches. Have not used it yet but I will make a point to this week while I’m out at the wood pile.

I hang screnches on a hook in the truck or clip with a carabiner away from the truck (and on my saddle) by a piece of accessory cord or throw line, which is clove hitched around the barrel of the socket end, sometimes incorporating the handle.

Works a treat. Rarely lose them. Wore one out, recently on the big socket part.

Got some exciting gear to show y'all today. You're in for a treat...

A 24" palmyra broomhead! I found a clapped out 12" in an old barn, and even in it's degraded condition, it worked great on woodchips. The palmyra has good snap, and moves chunks well. I also like the idea of 100% natural materials cause you can just throw it under a tree when done. No plastic shit to lay around forever.

I have an idea of making a pusher for the chipper out of the 12" head I found. I want to attach the head to a stick, pinning it in place with wood or something that can go through the chipper. I need to get the wood out of the pusher holder on the chipper. I think it shipped with a pusher and no one ever used it. The wood's fused to the steel, and I broke off both ends trying to get it out.

Might be too delicate, but it would be useful having a dedicated pusher that can also sweep a little right on the chipper.

During covid I wore a keffiyeh as my covid mask. Once, I went to the thriftshop right after work, so I'm wearing full camo, have knives hanging all over me, and my keffiyeh on. A woman told me I was scary. I just nodded, but I was thinking "Perfect! Stay the frig away" :^D
