It's a Witchard Marlin spike mate. I got it for Father's day and it is beautifully made. Fits just right in the hand. I dont use it on every splice as the end is slightly too sharp for some rope constructions. My old faithful screwdriver I sanded down is my go to.
You are correct Burnham. There are 9 parallel cores in Drenaline, I got the fid through the cover and caught one of the cores and it wouldn't move for love nor money. When I backed the fid out and tried again, I forgot to come out on the mark and went on the opposite side of the rope meaning that the little ink mark is visible and I will have to live with this shame and be shunned by other OCD splicers
