How'd it go today?

Got my company registered as an llc and got full liability insurance today. Now my wife is working on our advertising and office work while working her daily part time job as well. And she just wants me to do the bidding and labor, life sure is getting sweet lol.

Help is a wonderful thing when it's this hot out. Wreaked the rest of the oak with the two leads that failed got all but the big wood today back to finish in the am.

Met the nicest 'tree couple' you'd ever want to meet today. NickfromWI and his wife were at the Vacaville CA Electrical Hazard class today.

That was a fun surprise. Got to have a nice meal together and exchange ideas.

Nick and Mrs. Nick are good folk (you might not need to tell Karina I called her that :D). I have gotten to spend some tree time and class time with Nick before (he was teaching splicing). And when I had a business related trip to Torrance, CA, they invited me over to their home and we got to spend some time together...nice visit, genuine, easy-going folks.

Cool you got to meet them.

Great meeting you Merle! Hope you enjoyed hearing me fight with the instructor!

Small mess made in Paris, removed some "practice rigging limbs" over driveway for the HO's son, make sure he's able to lower other limbs in a little more critical parts. Ladder is not mine, Ho's son set it up for some reason.

Trimmed in the rain this morning and planted a dozen bushes of carious species in the rain this afternoon. Stopped and looked at this mess about lunch time image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg . Any ideas? It's at a pet cemetery so the bucket would be a pain to get in. There are tons of little head stones in rows 4' apart. Climbing it doesn't seem unsafe but I don't really want to rig off it with me attached.

Ganoderma. I would set aline and give it a pull in four directions. It may be solid enough to work on or it might just be rotten/ bendy enough to pull down to ground. Either way make it clear you cannot be held responsible for any collateral damage. They are responsible for neglecting the tree for far to long.

Undertaking a dead oak in town today with Mountain Mime and Nichelle

Another HOT day yesterday, but we put in a good day of framing on the house. Got most of the porch roof framed. Still lack one hip and raftering around the corner, but got a lot done considering.

Cool pics Stephen!...hope they get them darn fires out soon

Working for Bixler tomorrow, big black oaks deadwood and not sure what else so far.....

I have a friend in Mohall North Dakota who makes some pretty nice artwork on wooden disks. She asked me to make a few for her using my sawmill and a fairly large pine stump. I sent the pictures to her....she's happy as all get out. I've got work to do on this sawmill. I need to spend some time working on this thing. It's got good bones.....just needs some TLC.

Made it back home...had a great time; the festival went very well. Spent the first few days running tractor in the rain getting campers unstuck and parked. Things finally dried out enough so they could all drive out on their own toward the end.

Put in lots of hours (about 6am to midnight) but at least they were easy ones...shuttling older folks between their campsites and the stage area, escorting band buses in and out, setting up parking areas and traffic barriers with bobcat, making daily trash runs around the park on tractor.

Usually after a festival I still "hear" music for a day or so...Right now I'm still "hearing" people calling on the walkie-talkies  I'm having a decompression day today.
