That's energy absorption. Stretchy ropes are sometimes premium priced like polydyne and dynasorb.

Next get a thicker double-braid.

It will lower a limb just as well as the most expensive rope out there.

When you’re going to run it natural crotch and burn it up anyway, why NOT use ArborPlex? I’m perfectly satisfied with it. Been using it for 35-ish years now. I use 1/2” for up to 500#-600# stuff, and 5/8” when it gets bigger. I have a 75’ hank that I keep hanging on my side when it’s not in use. This morning I was wrecking out a declining red oak. I set a friction saver and 1/2” Stable Braid from the ground to swing some drooping big limbs out from over the concrete driveway. After I was done with that rigging point, I bombed the limb it was set on. When I got back up to the top, there was one forked limb still on the backside that needed to be rigged and swung. Rather than have a ring and rigging line sent back up, I grabbed the ArborPlex and natural-crutches both forks down, lickety split.

Next had another AP.
