what is hip thrusting?
Umm, to be completely impolite, it's basically phuking your way up a rope. As mentioned, it's barbaric.
The youngster did well. He's 23, and wants to learn for recreational purposes, and simply to expand his horizons, but nobody will take on the liability/responsibility, because he has a medical condition. So a low stress, friendly climb to about 20ft, while watched like a hawk, on a rescuable system, was the order of the day.
Right or wrong, the risks inherently present where clearly articulated, and he chose to continue with the lesson. Most of his time was spent a few feet off of the ground, learning to use the equipment and trust the gear. Baby steps. I can gatekeep knowledge, and he can find someone who's less attentive or qualified, or I can control the environment and variables to the best of my abilities, and help a young man reach new heights.
Lovely little climb today, making insurance company happy. Killed a little pondo while the boss had to butcher back a co-dom that he had worked hard to preserve. Got a really cool picture though, possibly my favorite selfie of all time.
Selfies are still weird as folk, but this one is pretty cool.
Pretty little creek on the property too, just barely still flowing in the heat.
