I do kinda wish I had done a Humboldt low, butt slide. The trailer tilts, the front has a hydraulic cylinder for a damper. Tip it up and let the tree hit there. Better yet like I did with the pines back in the day, stack the limbs like Lincoln logs into a crush pile.

looks like I'm paying off my dump trailer today, got SLAMMED with work all the sudden, new machines ripping through jobs like crazy, next step is to order a branch manager, then my only monthly payment is the loader which won't be bad at all once the trailer is paid off

going from 2K a month to $800 doesn't sound like much, but thats a lot of DrPepper and donuts I can buy with that difference, and thats whats important!

One thing the woke movement has done in my favor is normalize obscure problems that I've had to live with all my life. Now I'm part of a growing group of folks with a voice, and slowly we are being heard. Sure there's weaklings that have jumped on the bandwagon for a free ride. For me it just means I belong doing, like killing trees or fixing or moving equipment, not sitting at a desk. Thats why you guys have to put up with me here. Trees is therapy. Unfortunately, I was dealt a desk half the time. Fortunately I do OK with the the other part of that time which is basically ducking and weaving all the problems that pop up all day. Never a dull moment.

Visited a honey hole and got some junk, mainly the trailer. Swapped tires, pull one hub, looked good. Hit the road at sunset. First stop, other hub is hot. Open up, little old grease, crud, bearings pitted. Clean a little, spray with WD40, all I had. Put together with brgs loose. Drive to gas station, brgs not getting hot, wow. Drum getting hot from rubbing on brake shoes due to brgs too loose. Add flood hub with oil, snug brgs, made it home, didn’t even get warm again. Impressed the brgs made it. Probably wouldn’t have if the trailer had any real weight in it.

Oh, those torque multipliers are awesome. I forgot to bring one but you can run them with an electric impact and turn about anything.

Trying to find motivation with this miserable weather today. I need to move some things in the garage so I can place my old mini skid inside. I’m pretty sure I need to do motor mounts and I know the aluminum bell housing needs some fix for stripped out threads where the pump bolts on. Also pretty sure the starter is shot. I need to test some things first though. No matter what it’s a sucky job but it needs done. Machine does no good just sitting here not working. I will probably sell it and upgrade soon

Does that 560 run? Would have had a DT817 originally. If IH had put there faith in that engine over the DV800, they might still be around. I saw a 560 get scrapped. They had a three jaw grapple. It squeezed the tire, crushing the wheel. Then they just picked the wheel out of the tire and tossed it in the can.
