How'd it go today?

It was actually around $3k, and $1,200 shipping. With tax , title and reg, etc., she'll still be under $5k. Net needs are very minimal. If my sister's are going anywhere l9ng distance, they'll go in my other sisters 4Runner.

got ready for a job, dude I was supposed to help ended up flaking so we didn't work today, house was busy so I went for a drive

Got off work a little early as it was a beautiful day and no one wants to sit around and wait on the plumber so we had some cancellations. Neighbor and I biked the local community college trails and cut 4 downed trees that laid across them. Got a ride and time on a saw while helping the community. Win, win, win!

One of my customer said that that type of activity should become a sport. Kind of like cross country skiing where you stop to shoot a rifle. This would be where you ride a mountain bike and you stop to clear a log. It’s like a combination of mountain biking and timber sports! Maybe we can get it into the next Olympics! 🤣🤣

Is that a public or private road? Many accidents?
public highway connecting Maryville TN to Robbinsville NC, not sure an exact number of accidents but I'd say average of 1 every day or two, which is insane for the 30mph speed limit, used to be 55 I believe

It's an incredibly difficult road to navigate, especially in anything larger than a sedan, 2 lane with some silly sharp curves

I've ridden the dragon! Honestly not that impressive. Something like 312 turns in 11 miles. Just gets monotonous. You can't build any real speed. Mariposa is honestly tougher riding, so is Feather River.

I've been on it maybe 5 times so far, its fun but theres not much room to get speed unless you're on a 1000+CC sports bike, even the MT09 I'm planning to buy will likely lack on the dragon, not that I ever plan to ride hard, especially on that road

lucky for me, I live 14 miles from the northern terminus so I can drop by whenever I want, and theres a harley dealer about 10 minutes from me so taking the MSF course is nice and easy

Drove the Dragon back in November... it was slow, since the I-40 bridge is out due to Helene, and a lot of folks were on it.
next time you're this way, give me a shout!

BTW, my dad still runs that rollnlock you gave me a few years ago for my bridge, I gave him my harness when I upgraded to a treemotion and never took it off, he likes it!

currently having to go after the guy I worked for today for some $$$, today was a shitshow, between waiting on the guy yesterday, finally getting a call today at 2pm to go help him, show up to the job and he makes me wait an hour, then he finally shows up, can't tell me what trees he bid, of course the customer left for food so we had to wait on her, she gets back and points out what trees are coming down which totally aren't what was in the bid, finally the guy I'm working for leaves, not 10 minutes later the customer is trying to get me to add 20+ trees that even I knew werent gonna happen, we did the 4 hours we were scheduled for (got 3 trees down, despite 2 hours of waiting on people in the 4 hours) and left, now I gotta send the dude a bill for the $3000 he promised

I would feel bad for him, but I was told "3 or 4 hours of chipping and maybe pulling 1 or 2 trees into the woods, no big deal"

it was infact 2 days of climbing and an hour of chipping, ffs people, know what the job is BEFORE calling people to do it for you

I guess moral of the story is, contracts people, I messed up today and now I gotta hope he pays, although TN is a verbal agreement state, but good luck proving your side in court, hope I get paid but thats all I can do, so that was my dumbass mistake today, learn from it so you don't do it!

None ya bidness, ya kind hearted stud.

13, EEEE

Looking at some Danners that might be pretty sweet. 365 day guarantee. Only $60 more than the Georgias I got a while back and are already falling apart.

Remember when I said some of the folks here have multimillion dollar operations and some of us glue our boots back together? Well, the dadgummed glue gave up.

Steel toes never fit my flipper shaped feet, bought a pair of Carolinas off Facebook marketplace for $40, can't wear them, my toes don't fit in the coffin. Misery dipped in shit.
