How'd it go today?

As it goes, I have had a lot of real issues with wrists, elbows and general joint pain over the last couple of weeks.
Me being me I’ve been worrying about career ending rheumatism etc.
But a bit of dry weather, a couple of days rest et voila! Back in the game (almost) pain free.

Gotta move to Arizona USA! Hot and dry!

That's kinda the way it goes with me too, @Mick! Weather and time away from whatever is being hard on the joints usually helps a lot with pain. There are always the infrequent odd jolts of lightning, but lingering long-term pain does ease up if I give it a chance to rest, and the weather helps out.

Ran outto North Fork today almost where we had a logging camp . It is an old logging town they have a lumberjack festival every year. Wish it was not full of meth heads these days.
Center of CA they say...
People there had about 2 bedroooms worth of flooring for 250.00 new in the box. Saved some clams.

I missed a couple posts back there. That's happened a couple times recently. Not sure what's going on, but I think I might be picking my phone up middle of night when I'm in bed, make a quick scroll, feel too tired to really engage, and the software sets my last viewed post below what I've seen, though I didn't really comprehend the posts I scrolled through, and I forget about it when I wake up in the morning.

All of which is to say it would be great meeting you Stephen, and nice snowdrop cluster Mike. You could dig some up if it's an out f the way place that won't ruin the experience for others. They'll spread on their own, and fill the blanks back in over time.

John, those snow drops you gave me a while ago are up. They are by the trail into the wooded area. They will fill in quite densely over the years.

Great news on the chipper! Good on ya for bein an equipment mechanic!

Sold about 4 doz eggs this morning.
Made a pot of chili after church.
Cleaned up more eggs for custys or breakkie. Close to 60 in the fridge now, again.
Never rained much and snowed very little.
Got some paper work done. Got my ballot ready to drop off. Found some flooring cheap for our house. Pick that up tomorrow.
Nice day.

It’s got beans in it.. not chili. Yeah, I opened up that can.

BTW Mike, those snowdrops and daffodils indicate there was a house site close by. If it hasn't been paved over or something, you might be able to find bits of the old foundation. Fun to look around sites like that, and wonder what people lived there, and what their lives were like :^)

Forgot to mention it. I was on a job yesterday that was a new house down a fairly long panhandle drive through the woods, and the guy put these ugly ass lightpoles in the whole way, and around the yard of the house...

Does that look like shit, or what?! I bet they're super cold lights also. I'd be pissed if I were the neighbors. Probably looks like you're driving into a used car lot. The only saving grace would be if they were motion activated, but you still have the eyesore of blue and white poles leading to a very nice traditional looking house. Completely blew the opportunity to use wood, or something that looked like wood, with hanging lanterns and very warm lights. Some people...

Lot of driving today. Lilly had work and 2 Dr's appointments. I had to move the skid steer to the next job on my way down to the valley to get the lift for tomorrow. Bachelor night, I picked up a huge burrito on my way home.
Was a nice view coming back up the hill with all the snow on the peaks. Phone camera does it no justice.

Is that to a dentist or endodontist specialist? Might be best to just go straight to the expert instead of a regular dentist, because it is likely a deep problem they can fix.
That is just to my regular dentist that can do whatever I need. They called this morning with a 3:00 opening. Then they called back and said they couldn't schedule me because my insurance hadn't updated to active status yet. :? I called about the insurance, and they said it shouldn't be an issue. I did end up with a 4/5 appointment, so that's an improvement. I'm hopeful that they call again soon with an appointment. Stupid thing is you can walk into the ER no questions asked. They just can't yank the tooth.

Pain levels are improving a little, except when they aren't. Nobody prescribes pain meds, apparently. They just suggest alternating ibuprofen and acetaminophen. I don't want harder stuff, but the otc stuff doesn't do anything. Of course, a quick extraction, and I wouldn't need anything. Having a lot of issues with the antibiotics, namely some severe gas pain and I'm eating anything that isn't nailed down. Not much sleep, and zero energy. You wouldn't think a tooth problem would take you down like this. I just need to get back to work.

Sorry to read about this, tooth pain is amongst the worst I’ve experienced.
I have found whisky, gin or any other strong spirits applied to the area a temporary pain relief measure.

Another appointment came up today, and this time they figured out the insurance. X-rays and exam plus an extraction. Root canal and deep cleaning in my near future.
Have you tried Orajel (sp?) or any other similar product with the active ingredient benzocaine? To be honest, that's probably the strongest remedy you're going to be able to access over-the-counter and it will address any issues surrounding the nerve in your tooth. The second main reason why tooth pain actually is painful is a direct result of swelling/inflammation, which is best addressed (insofar as OTC remedies) with Non-Steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDS), most notably Ibuprofen (but Naproxen is also helpful, but to a lesser extent). Although the bottles on OTC ibuprofen will tell you only to take up to 400mg, it's perfectly safe to take as much as 800mg 3-4 times per day, assuming you don't take any prescription medications (such as lithium carbonate) that interact with it and/or are prone to stomach bleeding.

Don't underestimate the power of anti-inflammatory drugs. There's about an 80% chance you'll be prescribed an NSAID of some kind (either that or acetaminophen AKA Tylenol) if you have it pulled and/or some kind of prescription opioid pain reliever (e.g. hydrocodone/acetaminophen AKA Vicodin or oxycodone/acetaminophen AKA Percocet). If you are prescribed either of the Rx opioids, you would only be able to also get ibuprofen, typically in 800mg doses...which is why I suggest that dose to you now. Anyways, good luck to you, sir. I hope you feel better soon!

As for me, I just got out of the hospital. Thankfully, it wasn't for my Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome (CVS), my disability, it was for something much less horrific to endure (thank goodness). I was in there for 8 long, incredibly boring, and rather uncomfortable days. Got through it, though, and just got discharged this morning and my discharge was unusually expedient, which is obviously quite desirable and highly welcomed! I don't think I've ever been so bored in my entire life, even though I had my phone. I just wasn't in the mood for the interwebs, I guess.

When I got home, I discovered that the dozen or so fruit flies that somehow manifested inside of my cabinet about two weeks ago had done some copulating and, despite my efforts to clean up everything they could possibly feed on before I left for the hospital, they had apparently found sustenance somewhere. After a several minute investigation, I discovered two empty cans of energy drinks below my table that I shoot knot videos on. They're so tiny, but so annoying. This is my second fly related fiasco in a month. Quite coincidental and exceptionally irksome. I'm about to whip out my vacuum and start sucking up as many as I can with the wand. They're surprisingly fast little buggers, but I believe I'm faster and, with the power of suction at my disposal, I will prevail over their incursion into my territory.

Wish me luck! heh heh =-D
