How'd it go today?

Watched the Daytona 500, man that was a race! Who'd have ever seen a 20 year old, his birthday was yesterday, rookie with two starts in his career would have won it?
Then I helped the neighbor kid drag home another one of his project cars, silly kids.

I watched the last 10 laps, saw 2 cautions and big crashes, seems silly to just go round in circles for 500 laps. :)

well, shoveled 5" out of one driveway. Hoping it's done for now. I'll think about the other drive tomorrow.....

Ground a large Sycamore stump today. Also delievered some firewood.

Yesterday we planted a bunch of Boxwoods and I got to climb 2 nice Honey Locust. Just cleaned up some minor storm damage and thinning them out a bit. Happy to be back in the trees at work again!

Also got nipped by a dog in the back of my leg yesterday. I walked into a ball that was thrown that he was playing catch with and he was so excited he bit the back of my leg by mistake. Not a big dog at all, and he didn't get through the arborwear pants, but still hurts.

Yeouch! Dog bites are no fun. :(

I painted the bathroom today. The paint looked a lot different on the wall than it did on the color card, but I think it will work fine once I get the toilet and vanity installed. It matches the shower curtain perfectly.

I can't believe one quart did the entire bathroom, two coats. I even have a little bit left for touch ups.

High winds yesterday. My parents are selling the old homestead and a neighbors tree snapped in half and the hanging top was in their yard. They are closing this week sooo I had to go clean it up. Everything was going well, even though I kept having to tell the old man to stand back and go stand over there...a piece of 16'' diameter cherry wood cut loose down the hill and smashed his hand. F me. two hours later we were leaving the emergency room, no broken bones, couple of stitches.

Danged honey locust has thorns like the antlers of an elk .Tough enough to punture a truck tire I'll tell you that first hand .

only 200;) laps =500 miles. Not so sure I like the new "racing", racing is all for yourself IMO not who can I partner with. Anyone else feel this way?

There has always been drafting. I am not sure I understand the new rules. Or did they just choke the engines down more so now it is more of a necessity. Nascar has been losing spectators so I understand they felt the need to do something to increase # of viewers.

Yeah, the "new" Daytona is pretty wild and I have to agree, it's nothing like years past! I'd imagine we see a smaller restricter plate and smaller air intakes on the grills the next time they go there.

They repaved Daytona, it's smooth as glass, four wide on the straights, three wide in the corners and it's not drafting, it's freight training, two cars are locked together and breaking over 200mph. It's not the fast pack out front then a bunch up in the back like we are used to.

Racing is what it is .Some real good improvements however have came out of the racing world .Kinda funny though it was all started by hillbilly moonshiners .

Just got a downed limb cleanup I went and looked at this AM. Quick money. About 18" at the collar and I get to make firewood of it and let the HO clean up brush :D
Pretty torn up at the leader, live oak. Loaded with mistletoe and he is just trying to sell the place.

Finished all but some more work we got in this one. Finished burning all the brush from raising all the trees in the horse pastures and corrals circled in pink, orange and red.
Finished raising the areas in white. I was supposed to do a Japanese maple prune also, but she asked me back for that on a day she wants to supervise. Her hottie daughter was there and she wanted to spend time with her. I know I would have  My old landscaping boss used to do the tree and has since been released of his duty when he closed his business. My turn. Wish I had a camera today :/:
Then some grape vine and mistletoe removal in her oak in the front yard (I think Oregon White). Booked several days over spring and summer for weed control. Sweet :)

I just had a downed tree to clean up.

Old clients, been going there for about five years. Crazy neighbor was yelling at me last time I was there, "cut that # tree down".

A couple of days ago he leaned over the 6' fence and cut it, only about 25-30ft but it landed where he wanted it. Some sort of angled backcut.:what:

Wish I had taken a picture now. Anyway he also set his kitchen on fire so everything is good.8)

That was a great race, how bout that kid winning! When they were interviewing him before the race I asked John, is that kid like 12? I was pulling for him. Figured someone that age would have the stamina at the end of the race. He did good.

Because of my screwed up work schedule I'm off today ,work that is .

Because I'm such a nice guy I'm going to escort wifey out to buy some windows shades . I'm sure that will be the highlight of my day .

Hey all sorry I haven't been around much, I've been kind of afraid to post because vicodin, Valium, and scotch don't mix so good when you want to talk.

Wise, wiser yet would be to stop the ingestion of that stuff. :)

A Tweet I saw today: Thomas Jefferson on social media “Delay is preferable to error.”
