How'd it go today?

Its all good. I can't see how the guy is gonna do it for 900. He has more iron running around than I do and the wood is pulp if anything.

He does sell the pine logs but you are not going to make 200 bucks off this little load.

Id rather stay home than go out and just break even.

I've had customers call me to do a job several months after the bid, and then they get peeved if they have to wait a week or two for me to get it done. If you want the job done quickly, WTF did you wait four MONTHS to call me???

Met the stump grinder guy at that the last job I posted pics of. Scooped the stuff up faster than he was grinding it, with the mini. Spent alot of time watching, had a big ol' load of grinding in the truck though. I'll probably never remove grindings again...not my thang. Made money on the stumps and decent on the trees though.

Just need to get paid.8)

Well, where to even start................ WOW what a week and it's only Tuesday!
I went in yesterday and as expected, it was a mess. Just little crap, but everybody was whining about it. I went off several times. One o the stupidvisors "Well I moved my whole house, furniture and all, the VCR even turned on to the right channel, what was so hard about this one?"
I asked "Well if you are that good why weren't you here to help?" "Nobody asked me." Well if you are that good, and the efficient, you should have know enough to volunteer, so STFU!"
It didn't get much better.
My boss calls at 4:30pm, "Hey, you been drinking?" Yeah, but not enough! "Well, we have a problem?" Really? "Yeah, we have SAWS down?" Saws, as in plural? "YUP!" So what's down? "All of them!"
He goes on to tell me they blew the transformer, that was scheduled to be replaced this Friday, along with a new service line. Not that we thought this might be a problem to start with:roll:
And was telling me how the big boss wanted to setup a generator to run all of this crap. 5 saws, I chip collector, one air compressor, all 100 amps at 480 volts, plus lights and battery chargers and a dryer, and................. Do the math, it's ugly:O
I don't know how, but they got KG&E out there last night to replace it. AND nothing was BLOWN UP!!
WELL, as if we don't have enough to do, we have a dog a pony show coming up. They wanted to brush hog around the buildings? And the dog and pony show is tomorrow? Yeah, so we rented a tractor, and Andy (that would be me) got to spend the afternoon driving across town and back, then mowing.
Good times.

Andy, refresh my addled brain please - just exactly what do you do/who do you work for, as inwhat type of company?

Wow Andy. I trimmed 15 white birch trees today. Replaced my 65 amp alternator with a 145 amp alternator in my truck and now the voltage is all good, even with both fans running and all the lights on. Brendon I have been removing grindings for quite a while and it's a pain, but it separates you from the guys who won't remove them, therefore will get you more work.

I work for TMX Aerospace as a maintenance technician. For lack of a better explanation, we are a warehouse for Boeing/Spirit. We supply ALL of the Aluminum they use, up to 34 million pounds. We have saws that will cut material 210" long by up to 14' wide and 8" thick. A total of eight saws, one shear (16' wide) I think? 20 forklifts and nine side loaders in four buildings.
I am a busy little beaver!

I hate cottonwood trees. Not even easy to burn in clearing/grubbing infernos.By the way, my picture is a downed cottonwood I knocked over with my 064. It had been standing dead for years. It was actually dry enough my old boss used it for firewood that night. Thats as good as cottonwood ever gets, lol.
