How'd it go today?

It was hot today. I was back on the job I started yesterday. Yesterday I pruned 5 3/4 trees (1 catalpa, 1 Ash the rest elms) and wrecked a little one over the house. Today I finished pruning the unfinished front yard tree, Installed 2 spans of Guardian, reached over the carport with the bucket to do half of the big nasty in the back yard and cut a bunch of fenceline volunteers and chipped a couple of hours. Tomorrow I have to climb to finish the big nasty and clean up the rest.

I'm not exactly sure how it happened. I know D (the guy you met) hooked the chain in some ferked up way causing the hook to come off the chain. Today I'm not sure what happened but when I went to close the door it wasn't there. I do know when the hook came off it bent the hindges.

Bit annoying, but nothing too serious I hope.

It's minor compared the ding I put on a roof (minor) and the consequential falling through the garage ceiling (PITA time consumer).

Oh, I didn't get the pine log hauled, however we'll do that in the morning; I did get the neighbor's white oak down. Tomorrow I'll leave D getting the brushy stuff cleared while I haul the lift over to the next job. If tomorrow works out like it should, I should be nearly back ahead and on track.

I was supposed to be in two places today so I had my contract climber guy and one of my groundies in a 70 tree prune at a condinium complex. The other guy and me went and abused some olive trees that were growing up into the cable/telehone wires.

Too bad we (AMERICANS) can't put two in the head of those trash can pissin' on jr. high kids.

so far my day is good, racket outside from the renovations crew, baby slept to 0815 and started to cluck a bit so I went and got him while mommy showered. We hung out on the couch and interacted, lotsa smiles from both of us. Now its my turn in the shower then off to one estimate. Dont tell anyone but I am playing hookey today and taking the day off. I do have a landscape association meeting late this afternoon that comes with a BBQ supper, easy peasy. Tomorrow, three small pruning jobs.

If you have a stone driveway, you can only kind of "rent" stone. Mine is somewhere around 600 or 700 feet all told .

I've got a guy hauling and spreading as I type.Old Ralph is one of the best tailgate spreaders I've ever seen and I've been around a little ya know .He can lay it down so nice there is very little grading to do . The old boy does pretty darned good for a reformed alkie .

I suppose it will take between 80 and 100 tons before it's done .No matter,it needs done and will likely hold up for at least 10 years before it needs more . Just part of the of owning property ,like a big baby bird with it's mouth open, feed me,feed me .;)

As interesting a read as this has been, about guns and pissing an all:lol:

As best I can figure, I will have two people in tears, and at least four people in crying to the big boss by the end of the day tomorrow. I fail to understand why I MUST do my job, when they can't do theirs, and no one but me is held accountable?

I very seriously doubt I will be employed by this company by Monday, and I am not sure that is a bad thing at this point.

10 trees pruned, dozen stumps, twoTD's..., customer add on-o-rama,....... my work friday today....estimates all day tommorow:D

I did a couple small climbing jobs today since my truck was in the shop. A golden rain tree removal, a tall codom pine tree removal (that was so dead that the core had turned to liquid when I cut up the trunk) and a couple other small jobs that didn't require any climbing.

Picked up the truck at about 4:30 with new kingpins and front wheel bearings, alignment and a full service oil change for less than $1300. The power company never greased the truck since it was only on a 5 year lease so the front end was already worn out at 50K miles. :(
