I did start training on my new position today though, so work was good. It's pretty sweet. I definitely lucked out with that posting. Some pretty long faces on the crew/shift today. As everyone moved down a notch because now I'm training on a higher up spot. Five times faster then the dryer I was hand feeding. Fully automated but still a bunch to do to keep it all flowing smoothly. I really enjoyed day one of training. Got a top guy training me too, couldn't ask for a better teacher.

Yah it's hard to complain......yet I still do.

A nineteen year old kid comes up to me this morning and says to me, 'I'm pissed off at you'. Over me getting this posting that was up for anyone to sign for a week, and no one did but me. I just looked at him and told him he'd be best to let that emotion go. Lol.

We did the Hollywood gig...worked out well. Probably one of the hardest days I have ever worked. 14 hours today, I probably spent 10 of that in the water ferrying equipment, people, trash, setting up a zip line to deliver the big camera out to the rocks mid-river. Only down side was one of the stunt/actors got over confident and took a fall as he walked on rocks out to do his swordfight. They got another guy to take his place.

It was the real thing...people with big, $100K cameras, folks hollering "cut" and "are we rolling", big freakin' drone carrying a gimballed camera, makeup specialists...a real busy production. I probably have some good picts but too tired to chase them.

Plus I have to decide if I can show them...they asked us to not post picts to social media. I'll try to cipher it later.

Thanks all. The rage has passed, starting to see things straight again. Still disappointed the trip is off for me. My wife is heading out with our friends in the morning. I could drive our little Mazda 3gt which is a nice enough little car but I can't bring myself to want to drive it for 6-7hrs spend the night and then either drive it home on the same route or on the slightly longer route we planned to come back on on our bikes. Seems I'm out of this trip. Been working some long weeks and really looking forward to this. No one to blame but myself though really. I've got lots to do around the home front anyways. So onwards and upwards.

Did my arduous pack test for work yesterday and got a time of 40min39sec. I had to walk 4.85km with a 20.4kg weighted vest on. Spent today doing woodwork and making up a few more jewellery boxes pics to follow later

Our arduous test is a 45 pound pack over three miles in 45 minuets or less.

I got the front dormer window framed this morning, along with the stub rafters in front of it. Then got the rake wall framed. Hoping to get the rafters over the stairwell framed Monday.

That is a fast walking pace, 4 mph. Barefoot would be even more challenging to keep that pace over rough ground.

Funny thing. One of the fellows who I've really hit it off with at my new job turns out to be an American. He's assured me I'd fit right in. So whoever it was here over the years(altissimus?) who's called me the 'Canadians, real americans'. It might just be me. Apparently I'm fairly noisy for a Canuck. Lol. Imagine that.

The APT is part of the employment contract for my work with the NSW RFS State Mitigation services. Mainly we cut containment lines for hazard reductions, AIDER(Assist Infirm Disabled and Elderly Residents.

Indeed you do! It's tough building a rake wall on a slope of 11/12 by yourself, especially when the plates are 16' long. That near-center stud is 11-1/2' tall. Once I got the walk board up, I was able to secure the tops of the last few studs. I'm hoping to rafter over that section tomorrow.

Here's a shot from the back of the house roof looking toward the rear. I'm planning on moving my reloading paraphernalia up there. I'm planning on a shooting table in the rear dormer.
