What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

That is a curious bit of phrasing. I think this should be the official Treehouse definition. It's a good match...

"The origins of this idiom are unclear, but it has been in use for many years. It is believed that the term may have originated from logging camps in North America, where workers would clear areas of forest and create small communities in remote locations."

Could be nonsense though. There's other given possibilities, and the couple sites I looked at were basically ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Turned my ac on for the first time today. I wanted to hold off til July, but I was doing dishes, and sweating cause my hands were in hot water. It was 81° at the thermostat, and I set the ac to 80°. Amazing the difference 1° can make, especially with the added dryness.

The summer turned on after weeks of bad weather, as suddenly as the others changes lately. No progressiveness at all.
Today, I unloaded about 3 yards of chips from my van. It was there since wednesday because I was too late for the chip yard. In less than 3 days, the biological activity went full gear. It was like emptying an oven..

A little break from the heat today. It's 58 right now. Alternating storms, heating/cooling, and wind. The storm I mentioned earlier in the thread did a huge amount of damage. Probably 100 yards wide x 1/2 mile long zone of total destruction.

70°, cloudy with scattered thunderstorms. A fine day for treework.

Need more rain, soon, stage two will lead to stage three and forest closure, at which point I'll be royally screwed. No forest means no camping...

What's this air conditioning thing you speak of? :)

Man, I wish ac was optional here. I mean it's always technically optional, and I went without it for years, but it sucks. I'd like to be able to open the windows and think "Man! This feels great!"

Hot as shit today. The closest I was to being outside was when I fed Spot. Didn't want to turn the ac on cause temps were supposed to drop tonight. Well, they dropped, the door's open, and it feels amazing now. I'm tired of sweating, and there's at least 12 more weeks of this garbage left. I took tomorrow off work cause I have to sign for a package, and it isn't supposed to break 80°, so I'll also shorten grass. With any luck, the rain will stay away, and I'll get to skip a couple weeks.

It hasn't gotten below 104 degrees (during the daytime) in weeks here in AZ, and it's only going to get hotter. I'm leaving just before the heat really gets insane. I've been monitoring the weather in MA for comparison and I can't wait to be able to go outside and actually climb, or to take Harry for long walks with tons of ball tossing. Can't wait to feature Harry in some of my videos! Everyone will love him! He's a great little climbing partner and loves to guard my gear on the ground with a chew toy.

Yeah, sure, it's going to be a huge shock to experience the much higher humidity once again, but humidity won't keep me locked indoors in the A/C, nor will it cause all of my camera equipment to overheat. Excited to experience rainy days and t-storms again and, come winter, I'll be picking a few snow storms to film some majestic snow climbs during or after the storms!

The only problem with "during" is that, unless it's really cold, a snowflake could land on the lens of my GoPro or my phone, melt, and ruin the shots. So I'll have to be diligent about checking the lenses. I can always cover my tripod camera (phone) with an umbrella if the wind isn't crazy. I already have a homemade, adjustable umbrella attachment point that I had been using in AZ to block direct sunlight. I'm stoked. Modern batteries also still work really well in very cold temperatures. They just can't handle AZ summer heat. =-P
