The Official Work Pictures Thread

Kept my rope up top till I dropped to the road. I came down because the chipper had a warning light come on and they shut it down. I'm going back down to look at another job for them on a tunnel. I found out the RR is in a pinch because of gas and oil contracts. They are putting sidings in and more switch boxes along with a few mini depots. The big oil guy told the RR that if they can't keep up he will put in a pipeline to Texas. Need the work done asap. Boss needs me to do it. I prefer to sleep in my bed at night so it's gonna cost him. Looking at another 3-4 weeks of work for them in that area.

Rich I didn't figure you ran like that, but still the pic makes my spidey sense tingle a bit.

Better to have to much work than not enough. Uhh wait a minute, I just took the summer off? Lol.

It does look like a bad idea from the pic. I just figured I'd explain in case someone new caught it.

Busy is good. Swamped at work and in my own endeavors.

Nice, but no stubs would've been less divets. I always used to say, "Lucky we're not golfing!" Lol.

HO has some extensive landscaping to do, root flare alone pushed up the soil at least a foot and half, plenty of exposed roots to dig up, right from the sidewalk to the foundation. Normally I'll have brush bed made.

Just a couple of pictures from my last days work in Oslo. Back in the UK now after travelling yesterday with an epic hangover incurred during the Norwegian National tree climbing comp. Actuall the main damage was done after the comp. ;)

One of 4 trees we took out on Friday. I did a stone dead crispy Elm. Luckily it was in a park so had a fair bit of space so I did the tree in 5 cuts. It was a hot day and the dust was terrible... But that's life and why we love the jobs we do.

Hope you like the pictures.

Didn't compete at the comp but volunteered and worked as a tech on the work climb.

The pictures are of two of the lads from the firm I work for. They came first and second in the Masters.

Bit of storm damage work the week before. A Maple had ripped out from the top of an embankment or cliff. It wasn't the largest tree but it lodged itself via the root plate in some self down Elm. Luckily it wasn't much taller than 45 foot or so or it could have seriously hampered pedestrians or the road. It was still a bit of a lump so We rigged it off another tree at the top of the rocks. Tied into another and went down and nibbled as much off from above. One it was on a couple of point we severed them and lowered the trunk down the face and safely to the ground.

Cool pics Rich...and Rich. Working off the bridge and cliff looks very tactical, reminds me of casualty and equipment transfers between elevations, as it was called back in my army days.

Excellent pictures there....that maple cliff job keeps things interesting. Cool to see outside the box tree work.

Cheers. As I mentioned it wasn't the largest of trees but you wouldn't have wanted that bit of wood in your eye!

I like having to think and work stuff out. Keeps the grey matter lubed up! I think all in all it took about 2 hours including the climbing and cleaning up of a few road side Lime tree limbs that tore out as the Maple went down.

Largest of half a dozen maritime pines we took down, three hours away. Lots of roping cos of wires houses etc. two day job, stayed down there overnight. poor quality pics.
knees and hips know they've been standing on spikes!

Some pines, there, Mick. Got a latin name for them, maybe. Maritime doasn't ring a bell with me.

Our friendly inbred, Jed, was complaining that I didn't post pictures of me slaying beech trees anymore.
Sorry, Jedster, i usually take pictures for the apprentices and since we don't have any right now, I've been lax.
Here is a BUNCH to make up for it.

Been removing hazard trees aropund a golf course the last couple of days.

Fomes Fomentarium infeted one with a dose of hornets to make it real good.
Pulled it over with my oversize skid steer.

Another that was completely dead and were going to hit one of their funny little lawns, if it fell.

So Richard SRTed up in a sound one about it, took most of it out and we pulled the rest into the woods.
