The Official Work Pictures Thread

Yep, market flooded here as well....because of all the last years fires here, theres tons of burnt bark trees coming out of sierra nevada mts. on logging trucks.

Blue wood (bark beatle fungus) is second grade wood, mills not to thrilled about it but they still take it.

I dont get any money back for a few pines, gotta fill the whole truck to get a check.....free haul away is not to bad though, beats firewooding it ;) ;)

Full load here...all are 38' 10" long to fit in shipping containers going to China :/::/:

Yah I always got a kick out of when people think there yard tree is worth anything. As soon as they start talking like that I say no problemo, I'll leave the log and you sell it for the mint it's worth.

Unless you can get a load together here it's not worth anything, even with a load it's not worth much. Big mills here won't touch much private wood unless it's virgin timber and not anything even close to residential or a 'wooded lot'.

Looks like someone isn't too good with the logging tape.
They'll have a fun time trying to close the doors on that shipping container.

Stig, its all about the weight distribution, he did it for a reason to be legal for weight on roads

called staying within the bridge weight formula or some such. fair pain in the butt for some trucks & loads...

Some from our camp today.

Not really. A good self loader will lay the log where it 'fits' best working within their bunk and overhang limitations.

Newest addition to the TreeCare fleet...$300 for the trailer, bought it off the side of the road on Tuesday, came with a full year of rego. Steel frame and springs sound, new tyres and spare, new decking and tailgate and a lick all over with shiny gray paint. Tows just fine.
The hubby mounted the two tool boxes in it today, they had been waiting on the back porch for a trailer...one box is worth more than the trailer! (got them on sale too so its all good)
A new trailer that size would have been around $1200...I think we did ok :)

Yeah...got the truck for that, more room for wood in the truck and not having to load and unload tools every day and on the jobsite. Plus we can slide on that camper in the background and got to work for a few days...don't have to sleep with the saws.

Nice looking trailer Fiona. That setup won't work for me but I can see how it works for some. It's nice being able to lock everything up at night without having to unload and reload

there all 38' 10" to the "T"

My bad.
The logging trucks here load everything up against a front plate, since legal length is as important as weight.
So a load, cut for China, is (hopefully) dead even in the back.
Man, the container loaders bitch when one log is a foot too long.

Love that trailer set up, FI.
We sure could use a light outfit like that for bringing the tools to town.

Friday job, spready but not enormous oak, lot of self lowering to keep the boys moving.
Broke out the 076 for devilment.

No worries Stig, pics are hard to make out at times ;) and whats going on

Another climb in a thornless honey locust. Just gettin' over a cold the little girl brought home from school. Some dead wooding and storm damage to lower. HO trying to please neighbour with a pool who's been making grumblings.
Finally a job worthy for Altissimus'sus's's ISC block since the ground help is up to it.... err down for it. Thanks again Dave!
