Pulling wood out of the brush?

Good grief Dave, why not load those machines forwards to move the COG back over the trailer's axles? The 3/4T looks way squatted. I see the 726 is loaded forwards, thank goodness. If it were me I'dda flipped the 320 around and the back Thomas, to lower the tongue weight.

That's only 9klbs of equipment, with a couple thousand on the ball :|:

Dave was definatly heavey on the hitch, even more so after unloading Andy's machine. But he doesn't have far to go now to unload the 726....

Not today! Saw Dave for breakfast and went directl to the Docs! Double ear infections and the wind is gusting up to 50mph. I have no love for the outdoors today!

Neat little machine, not sure I like some of the design, and it sure looked like like hell compared to the pretty new Boxers:cry:
But we all have to make sacrifices:lol:

Again, I haven't hardly run it, so keep this in mind.
The front axle seems a little small.
The batery goes dead, you are pretty much toast as it's under the cover, under the boom!
The Hyd. res. is under the cover under the boom as well.
I understand why they make the aux. hydraulics lock one way or the other for a constant run attachment, but for a quick movement of something I am used to "bump and release".
Kind of minor, but still could be a half day getting it running if the battery goes.

The front axle will hold up, but bigger wouldn't hurt, especially if you were running duals.

The battery dies, you can jump it off from the right side of the machine if you're standing on the back of it. Later machines even have a lug to do just that.

The hydro res. is in a PITA place to check fluid level, later machines have a sight gauge. Also the cap is rivited together, so it's not the strongest.

The bump control you can do with your finger when you get some experiance with it, that won't matter. You ain't gotta push it all the way to the detent, if that makes sense.

I wish they made it easier to clean out the insides, and didn't have the green safety switches.

That does make sense Carl, I cn drag the welder over and jump it off the starter if needed I guess.
Dave has hooked me up pretty good! I have all ne parts for the swivel on the grapple as well as the new side bars to put on it. The hose covers are worn he is sending me new covers, oe hose leaks a little he's sending me a new one. And he just recalled last night he has another pump that he will send as well!!
GREAT GUY!!

Told ya! ;)

And yeah, jumping it off the starter is no biggy. I hook the cables up to the starter's post to run an air compressor.

Glad to hear it, Andy. Dave is certainly building himself quite a reputation for going above and beyond for TH members. I'm sure he's taken good care of you on the deal.
:)

Now go build yerself a set of tire chains for the 'lil rascal and pull some wood out of the brush!

Hope you feel better soon, Andy.

Hell Andy will have drag bars on it before long. Pulling wheelie's up and down the street....:P

Not until he's swapped out the motor for a turbo V-6 with air induction and a set of headers sticking out the sides.

I've got some work to do now!!!!

I think that would send mama right over the edge!! And that's not a real good thing right now:lol:

Didn't feel better, worse if anything, today. I got up and moved slow.
Pulled the plugs out, they needed changed, and looked things over better.
I went ahead and changed the plugs, oil and filter. Oil was a hair low, but I didn't know what was in it or when it was changed, now I do!
I knew it was low on hyd. fluid, but how much? I added a gallon, but it seemed to want more. So I added another gallon. That brought it up to the bottom of the filler screen.
Plugs where easy, oil filter was easy, oil drain is slick!! Filling it up with oil SUCKS!!! You have to take the gas tank off to clean/change the air filter? You have to pull the oil cooler and fan out to add hyd. oil. Not hard, just awkward. And the dipstick, WOW, I wont even go there:O

Well, it's happier now, it needed plugs and that smoothed it right up! Ran it a little and noticed astream of oil. Shut it down and looked, yup, coming out of the fill cap!! Overfilled it as I was afraid. Better it puke on my yard than anywhere else though!
Went to start it, "click", "click" nothing!! Hmmmmm. Fiddled a little, nothing. (No offense Dave, I wasn't feeling good!!) Started swearing at it thinking I had just bough a hunk with a bad starter!!! Got to looking at the starter, hmmmmm. Had an empty connecter. AHHHHHH!! When I shoved the oil drain line back I knocked the start wire loose on the solenoid, DOH!!!! Easy fix!
This thing handles the logs fine!! I had five Cedar poles, 6-12"dia. 8' long on at once! I still need to figure out how to grab the brush decently and get it to the trailer.
I know, now at least, dragging brush go backwards, bu I was trying to drive up the ramps and drop it on the trailer, as I did with the logs.
I also learned REALY FAST that I shouldn't have my fat azz standing on the platform while trying to back it off the trailer!!! Yeah, that got hairy FAST!!!
Educational day!
