Why is there so much good/cheap tree service equipment in the upper east quadrant of the USA?

I have been looking around at market places and there is an abundance of chippers/lifts/chipper+bucket trucks in the north east quadrant of the USA. Is there a lot of trees out there? Or are there home bases to large nationwide companies? I live in Hawaii so it's obviously very hard to obtain such gear/deals or even ship it out here. Even the west coast doesn't have nearly as much equipment floating around... at least as far as I can see.

Also, lots of manufacturing in that quadrant of the states, just ask @Tree09. Everything @Mellow mentioned plus a variety of other factors that I don't even think about because I'm from Arizona. Everything made of metal here is astronomically expensive because it don't rust here. A ten year old civic from Ohio is about used up, a ten year old civic from Flagstaff needs a fuel pump and a tune up to last another twenty years.
