Where is everyone purchasing their ammo online? What is your preferred 9mm range ammo? I am late to the party to this thread.

No ammo though...not even for a purchase.


When I say local...thats 40 miles away.



As far as ammo sources.....someone pointed me towards "AmmoSeek" last night.


Preferred for me was the Winchester white box 100 round packs.....because thats what the store had.


I have a 92 Beretta.....but never shot it much. Hence the slight shortage of 9mm ammo at home here.

Back in the Nam, again and again, everyone in uniform, and many people not in uniform, open carried loaded weapons 24/7. Not just one weapon but 2 or 3 sometimes, and over a 2 year stretch in said lethal environment I never observed a single accidental discharge.

For some reason, here in the US, accidental discharges happen more frequently. "Oh, I didn't think it was loaded." is the usual answer. Lack of adequate training is all I can figure. Or just dumb people.
 
I have a friend who had an AD about 2 months ago...he is normally very competent, careful...does high risk work sometimes. He was distracted by the TV while cleaning his .40 calibre handgun. I don't have the step by step, didn't ask him to relive how it worked. But he put a .40 cal round thru the center of his left hand...the picture I saw looked like it went in from the palm, exited thru the back of the hand...no one else hurt. I assume he was chambering a round, racking the slide and something got done real wrong. He has kicked himself around a lot about it. The docs offered to use pins, etc. to try to rebuild the finger...he told them to just take if off. As I understand it the removal was back into the palmar area. I have not seen it yet but one finger is gone for sure. Dangerous things take constant vigilance.

Here's a look at some of the claims Biden made during his Rose Garden announcement and the facts around them:

Gun manufacturers and liability

Biden claimed that "the only industry in America -- a billion-dollar industry -- that can't be sued -- has exempt from being sued -- are gun manufacturers."

Facts First: This is false. Gun manufacturers are not entirely exempt from being sued, nor are they only industry with some liability protections.

Under the 2005 Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act 15 U.S. Code § 7903 - Definitions - https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/15/7903 , gun manufacturers cannot be held liable for the use of their products in a crime. However, gun manufacturers can still be held liable for https://crsreports.congress.gov/product/pdf/LSB/LSB10292 (and thus sued for) a range of things, including negligence, breach of contract regarding the purchase of a gun, or certain damages from defects in the design of a gun.

Other industries also have some exemptions in liability. Background checks and gun shows

Biden claimed that "If you walk into a store and you buy a gun, you have a background check. But you go to a gun show, you can buy whatever you want and no background check."

Facts First: This framing from Biden is misleading, since it leaves the false impression that gun shows are exempt from background check laws. Purchases at gun shows are not exempt from background checks, which are required on purchases from licensed gun dealers whether you are in a gun store, a gun show or anywhere else. Only purchases from private sellers, whether at a gun show or elsewhere, do not require a background check in most states.

Under federal law, anyone who is purchasing a gun from a federal firearms licensed (FFL) dealer must go through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS). These licensed dealers include anyone trying to make money by selling guns, or who sell guns regularly. They must be an FFL dealer and regardless of where they sell guns (online, at a store or gun show) they have to put buyers through the NICS.

Biden touted so-called red flag laws, also known as Extreme Risk Protection Order laws, which allow people to ask a court to temporarily remove guns from people believed to be a danger to themselves or others. He said that states with red flag laws have "seen a reduction in the number of suicides in their states."

Facts First: This needs context. Research on this subject is limited, some of the available research data is mixed, and suicide rates have increased around the US in the 21st century.
