O.C.G.D. Thread, part two

Trying these spacious foot box, composite safety toe, waterproof breathable, steel shank KEEN work boot.

I have Wesco climbers for hours in spurs. More of a little spur/ spurless, groundwork boot. Closing out for about 120, instead of $180.

Many boots don't let me lace right enough due to the sides butting up to each other, over the tongue.

These lace cleats grab and hold the lace, allowing a tighter tie of the knot.

Going to go find a fleece vest to wear over it.

I have a pair of keen steel toes that I use for almost everything, I've been happy with them. My insulated winter hikers (standard toe) are keen as well. Good stuff IMHO

Picked up some SCARPA Italian leather backpacking boots....put 5 miles on em last weekend on Pacific Creast Trail and like them alot, lots of support and stiff shank which I like

That's TIGHT enough.

Reporting back...comfy. Tolerable for short spur trips or longer, with an overhead TIP. Wouldn't want to "firewood" a good-sized spar down, but can't remember the last time I did that, anyway.

Good for groundwork.

Comfy enough for spurless pruning.

Got thru amazon.com....waited for sale price before buying...I wont pay $300 for boots!

Nice looking boot, Bots. I'm about to put a similar looking pair to work as all my regular work boots are shot now, just a little worried about getting a ton of sawdust inside them cuz they aren't taller. What's your take on the sawdust issue?

Yeah, I could. Just seems like "one more thing" though, and kinda hot

Yeah, that's probably what I will rely on mostly. Maybe when cutting stumps low I will have to fudge around and make sure the pants are pulled low enough.

Yep, thats the way to do it

I know, I dont like the "one more thing" as well, but gaitors are a good Idea if not to hot out..
