In The News...

sheesh...tooo touchy...:P

the "helping along" of anything like this immigrant deal is as plausible to be caused by one of this countries extremist major parties as it is by the other to gain something for their side or to make the opposition look bad.

I simply pointed out another possibility. It fits great with a reason to bolster funding to build "the wall" eh? Why did Trump say Congress would be involved? Because he wants the rest of the money for completion of the wall that they didn't allocate in the last budget?

It also fits with the need of a real crisis close to home as the election is coming and statistically a "crisis" of this type tends to favour incumbents...Seems a lot less far fetched than the Presidents version of his opposition forming and supporting an army of immigrants from a few thousand miles away to walk until they can storm the border...all just to thwart him and his policy.:lol:

There is also the possibility that no one here is behind any of it...Which I tend to favour...but that wouldn't fit with the conspiracy radio stories that have been broadcast for the last week or so would it...

Just for the record, I'm for not letting anyone enter this country without a complete vetting process completed first and a damn good reason to be here. Hell, this might be the first time in a long time that our military gets deployed for a legitimate use...defense...

Im curious how many people here had family that were invited here vs. those who just came. my family did not ask anyones permission to enter. I guess its a timing thing.

What gets my goat is I heard (NBC Nightly News) Mexico was actually applauding, feeding and escorting the horde through their country.

WTfuckityF???

Giving food and water and well wishes to hungry thirsty people coming through your town is what most people would naturally do I imagine. What would you expect them to do?

Where do we draw the line? 7000? 17,000? 170,000???

"Give us your tired, your poor, your hungry masses yearning to be free."

That phrase is OUTDATED.

Of course they are.
What did you expect them to do?

Just like I would gladly give somebody crossing our border a lift to Sweden.

Did you miss the part where they TRIED to stop them at their border? And FAILED?

I'm not much for the "If you can't beat em, join em" philosophy.

And multiply your "somebody" by 7000+.

Tell me about it.
We've had millions of people from Africa and the middle East crossing the Mediterranean these last years.

I know exactly how you feel.

I disagree. IMO the issue isn't whether or not foreigners should be allowed in. The issue is ILLEGAL entry, coming in illegally and then trying to claim you belong here. No, you can go back and use the process that legal immigrants use. Fill out the paperwork, get checked out for criminal history and get a green card until you apply for citizenship.

We still welcome all, as long as they don't barge in illegally. The selective outrage by those on the left over this issue is ludicrous. Illegal border jumpers are NOT immigrants, they are illegal intruders.

More to it than “come on in and get ya free shit”.

required employers to attest to their employees' immigration status;
made it illegal to hire or recruit illegal immigrants knowingly;
legalized certain seasonal agricultural undocumented immigrants, and;
legalized undocumented immigrants who entered the United States before January 1, 1982 and had resided there continuously with the penalty of a fine, back taxes due, and admission of guilt; candidates were required to prove that they were not guilty of crimes, that they were in the country before January 1, 1982, and that they possessed at least a minimal knowledge about U.S. history, government, and the English language.
