How'd it go today?

What model chipper is that? Guy that bought my bucket has a 254 with 3 feed wheels with 13k hours on it, still runs perfect. He clears land with it

250XP, 110hp 4BT, I think the tach showed around 3500 hours the one and only time I got it to work for 10 seconds, this was 3 years ago and I know this is atleast the 2nd tach this chipper has, so its safe to assume its got over 5000 hours

I've only had 3 surprise issues out of it, all 3 were my fault for a lack of maintenance, 2 blown hoses and the anvil fell out one day, just slipped my mind to check the bolts holding it and noticed when I heard a loud clicking sound while it was running, that was almost really bad, I check those multiple times a day now

right now I'm doing the hydraulic pump, reversing valve, might do the crush cylinder valve also, welding up lots and lots of cracks, and planning to add a pyrometer and boost gauge so I can turn the pump up a little bit safely because 110hp just isn't enough, as much as I love this chipper and think it chips great, another 50-60hp and working hydraulics wouldn't hurt on crane jobs

We look forward to progress photos and updates.

Buddy of mine just took delivery of his new brush bandit 18" John Deere diesel, cost $115k, it has 30 hours on it so far and it stopped working, some sort of sensor thing of course. He's pissed. Dealer(s) are dragging their feet.

He bought my 2014 18" brush bandit Perkins diesel for 60k, runs perfect, is the best chipper I ever had. #newshitsucks?

And he bought a brand new high end Ford diesel pickup for $100k, a week after he bought it the wipers quit working, dealer had at least a month before it got fixed but at least they forgave a couple monthly payments in recompense.

buddy of mine bought a 2020 bandit 12X a few weeks ago, 49hp ford gas I think, he took it back to the dealer and got his money back, went to vermeer to get a BC1000 instead, local bandit "dealer" is just a cat dealer that sells bandit but doesn't have parts to work on them
