Some land clearing before plowing. The apple tree was a single mass of bittersweet and poison ivy. Salvaged some logs of the apple tree. There might be some interest from the meat smokers.
I've not, Sean. Should. A friend gets relief from an MSM lotion. Should check that out too. My wife is on me to see my doctor about my hand pain. Should.
About the only thing I'm any good about doing is making mild complaints .
The youngest daughter finished the cherry coffee table she’s been building, - the epoxy in the fissure came out nice and clear. I just trimmed the six windows in the south wall of the shop, each pair with a different species of wood. Started packing for Thailand and Hawaii. Ran through everything with the house sitters - they’re going to get the bulk of the best tomatoes, peppers, and green beans from the garden over the month we’ll be gone. Dropping off three turned bowls for the Woodturners Guild display at the state fair. Then off to a dinner for the volunteers at Mt. Cuba, a wildflower garden and preserve near us. Got the advance copy of the limited edition (just for our children) book of stories from my growing up. Getting motivated to finish the one for general consumption. Sanded and oiled my soapstone countertops after work. I love doing the oil and it’s my favorite stone. Made these tops and sink from large slabs and remnants. The mineral oil sure makes them pop. Soapstone is impervious to water, chemicals, stains, and direct flame. Only weakness is that it is soft (between 1-4 on Mohs scale) These tops are around 2.5-3.
Only the people who no one wants to see naked live in those places. The 60 yo lady drives by on the golf cart and her boobs are bouncing around in her lap as she drives over the gravel road. Eeehhhh.
I wanted something to keep the cat’s litter box out of sight and out of reach of the dogs, just in case. Some dogs are really disgusting around cat litter boxes. So for 40$ on Craigslist, I found a cedar lined hope chest by Lane furniture in VA. I cut a hole in each end, re-used some trim from a little demolition work last year, and had a scrap piece of threshold that I painted, and voila. Not perfect, but we’re happy so far. Got some plastic sheet to put down inside it too. The upholstery is ugly and worn, and the cushioning is really uneven and lumpy, so we’ll put a new cushion on the top and cover it with marine grade vinyl, I think dark brown would look nice. I’ve been needing to buy a staple gun anyways.
