How'd it go today?

The idea speed limit here on all but the motorways is being lowered to 80kph (50mph) from July, quite what point there is on having 3 cars that does over 150mph is beyond me, but it’s his money to spend.

When is the last time any of us bought a car that would go no faster than the legal speed limit? :D It's just a matter of degree.

My Jag XKR will also do over 150, in theory...but that's not my reason for owning and driving it. I doubt your BIL is any different.

Fair enough, some of us are old enough to remember when you could enjoy a fast car within reason.

Over here (and in the UK) one journey, not paying attention,or being a bit heavy on the right foot can get you catching the bus to work.

Some of us are even old enough to remember when you could enjoy a fast car with no speed limits.

When I grew up, there were no speed limits.

Then we got them here, and one had to go south of the border to blow the cobwebs out of the exhaust.

Fast acceleration, as opposed to high top speed, is plenty of fun. You don't have to drive in triple digits to get it.

Although that can be fun too, in the right place and time. There are no legal venues here for that on the public byways...but there are places where it can be flirted with enough to put a smile on your face, yet with relatively small risk of legal ramifications.

Would suck to be caught, sure. I don't flirt much :D.

And yesterday two Treerats stopped by my daughter's home in Cleone....teeny community outside Ft. Bragg...and delivered a TreeHouser's dream.

My crew and I hiked Russian Gulch yesterday. THAT is an amazing place...went all the way to the waterfall...about 2 hours in. Lots of old growth stumps nourishing new growth. I will post more pics once home.

that first pic of regrowth on stump is awesome!

Geez, some of those stumps look like they could be quite rotten and they have large fast growing trees on top of them. Could those be hazard trees in the making? Just wondering
