Double wrap climbline or lanyard on spars?

I was in Winnipeg a few years back for my dad's B-Day, and had lined up Dave for a rec climb/meet and greet. But, on the plane over I started getting a fever and as luck would have it, got sick as a dog for the whole time I was there!! Didn't get to meet ol Lutes, but one day for sure. My old boss has some pretty good stories about him, and you gotta love the "Dave's Daily,' on his site.
