I've heard it said that to use an electric grinder on a saw chain is in defilement of God's wishes, everything should be done with a hand file. I'm not an Amish, so can you elaborate on this please?

Filing a chain by hand is about as easy as herding a bunch of chickens so .......... I always recommend filing using a grinder, cause I find it slicker than a minnow’s dick to use.

Chains are cheap. Just buy fresh new chains and toss all the dull ones in a bucket. No sense wasting all that time filing.

Good thinkin Brian............it would give a dude more time for the ladies!

If all I have is a rocked out chain that I've just GOTTA use, I'd rather use a lil hand grinder to straighten them up before wearing out my file to achieve the same thing.

You confusin me, is that a question or what?

Good question, I wouldn't use ceement if I were you, as it would take to much damn time to mix and set up. If it were's my tree, I would fill the hole with some grevel and finish it off with some duck tape wrapped around the trunk so's the grevel wouldn't spill out. By using this meathod you will save yerself tonne of time...................and you can use that there saved time to spend with the ladies!

I never though of using gravel and duct tape before! Thanks for the advise! I am going to use that this week on a silver maple.

When I worked in Calgary, I noticed that the North end of town would smell very poorly if there was a heavy wind from the north. I have been told that this is due to a prevalence of the bronze skinned hairy manthong ladyborer, do you know if this is true or not?

Huh! And here I was taught to bury the used up chains and files in the RZ for iron fortification. Man was I misled

Maybe it's better to bury them by the bucket full...

Your nose knows!

That scent should be repulsive to a man's nose, but when the ladies catch a wiff of it, look out, a stampede is a coming!

I have a pine tree with the bark falling off. Do you think it will come back?

Butch,

What's been going on here during my hiatis from the tree house? What has happened to all the tree care "smarts"? They seem to have left when Ekka made his exit from the house. His "tree care wisdom" shoes are pretty big to fill, after all, he is listed here, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Eric_Frei but I am going to try and contribute what little knowledge of the industry that I have, to all those who are in need of answers. You can count on me!

I figured you were attempting to make funny. Not much about that fellow's very humorous, except maybe that video of him hanging "unconscious" in his saddle, har.

My awesome detector just went off the scale and broke when it passed over this thread. Where can I get a new awesometer that goes up to 11?
