Oddly enough you should say that. Back in the old days that use to be a sign of prosperity in the logging camps of old or so I have read in the Time Life Books " The Loggers".

A Chinese Stihl?

Oh yeah...they are appearing in Australia now, I can't remember the name just now, almost dead ringers for a 210 and a 290 the ones I saw, orange and white too...sorry derail!

I noticed the other day that I can put my spikes on with the gaffs facing out, is that how you climb a co-dominant stem?

Rborist1 , I need to grind out a stump that has gravel around it,should I have the customer park their car in front of their french doors to block the gravel from flying and breaking the glass out of the door? its real fancy like.

Old timer told me once, "I divorced a woman for that, Jer." After I told him my gal friend complained about saw chips.

The guy fell timber into his 70's and was hard as a rock,, strong.

Ray Lane of Ft. Bragg. Passed away in early 90's at 89 years old. Strong as a locomotive all the way up to it.

Chinese Stihls? Ha!

Sorry guys been busy lately. I have not had alot of time to be online answering questions.

I was on a Air China flight once and the inflight magazine imformation on the air safety card was actually spelled 'infright magazine' It was one of the worst flights I have been on.

When selecting an appropriate accessory (like the nice bling in your avatar) with which to impress the ladies as you perform the requested tree work, what is the most important thing to consider? And what colour speedo do you find brings the most interest when you are at the beach?

bringing them? That aint half as bad as wearing them. Take and share a picture of yourself wearing them? Thats just plain Albertan!

Not enough bling.

You weren't wearing enough bling. If you get yourself a snazzy gold chain with a nice crucifix then your felling skills will improve. As you can plainly see, Rborist1 is clearly a master.

Mr. Rborist1, how come my sloping back cuts don't work like my friends tell me they are supposed too? What am I doing wrong?

Hello Mr. Beranek. I have been around this here industry for a couple of years but nowhere near as long as you, so my knowledge pails in comparison to yours.

My understanding is that alot of arboricultural "wisdom" has been passed down from one tree climber to the next at the local bar after a hard days work and sometimes words and techniques can get a little slurred after having a couple cold ones. If I were you, I would ask your "buds" to show you the actual technique when all parties are not under any foreign influences.
