One more question. What type of connectors are the best ones to get form ACE Hardware? I am thinking about getting the brass ones (because they remind me of all $$$ I am going to be making) and maybe some pulleys for this oak removal. The lowering line is going to be 1/4" poly it is rated to a thousand so no worries there because I'll be taking small five hundred pound pieces. I like to keep a 2/1 safety factor.

Every year my leaves fall off and the tree dies, then it somehow gets resurrected in the spring? Is this what is mean by and act of God?

I can't seem to water my white oaks enough. Every spring there are less and less leaves on my oak trees. I have upped the water to them every year for 10 years and it does not seem to help. I am beginning to wonder if the lighting and funny faces I nailed to the trunks might be effecting them. Can it be they sold me things on the internet that may damage my trees ?

What's the best 50cc saw out there?
What's the best two stroke mix to use?
I have a chance to buy either a 460, 660, 576, 390xp or a 455 Rancher, which would be best for me?

First off, 2 stroke? thats just a gimmick regular old 40 weight works jus a good. none of the saws you mentioned are the best, you just can't beat poulan. best 50 cc saw? a poulan pro with a 20" bar.

My neighbor has an Ashish tree, I think? Anyway, it's blocking my satellite TV reception. What is the fastest way to kill it?

Reading threads on this and other arborist forums, I 've come across the term: tree topping.

I thought topping was something you put on pizza, but apparently you can put it on trees as well.

I'm somewhat confused by this, can you explain?

topping = remove most or all of the upper canopy via a cut at the main trunk leaving a disfigured and in the long term, a poorly structured tree. IE, making a 60 foot douglas fir into a 40 foot douglas fir, usually due to arborphobia.

Tree topping, who the heck would want leaves on their pizza, that's nuttier than a "Skwerl" turd.

Butch,

Once the snow melts here the phone is gonna ring non stop and then you will not hear from me as often. Right now, our crews are busy pruning 1000's of newly planted city trees, so I have some time on my hands, as a result, I can share all the tree care wisdom that I have gathered throughout the years with all of ya'll.

Good question, I wouldn't use ceement if I were you, as it would take to much damn time to mix and set up. If it were's my tree, I would fill the hole with some grevel and finish it off with some duck tape wrapped around the trunk so's the grevel wouldn't spill out. By using this meathod you will save yerself tonne of time...................and you can use that there saved time to spend with the ladies!
