Anybody here into airsoft?

Junior bagged straight A's for the year again and he wants an airsoft AEG... so I'm buying him one, a midrange M4 replica by G&G. And since I can't let him have a toy like that without having one myself, I'm thinking about an M14 type (my favorite service weapon) made by NTG. I have no idea what I'm going to do with it other than plink in the back yard and terrorize the bunnies.

My question is about BBs. I'm insisting on biodegradable but there's mixed reviews on quality and accuracy in an AEG. Anybody have experience with biodegradable BBs? Price isn't a factor so much as accuracy and biodegradability.

It's down to these two types unless somebody has a better choice.

Although I'm SO TIRED of those little bb thingees EVERYWHERE.....I'll ask my son about them tomorrow (I'll be zzzzzzzzing by the time he'll get home tonight.) He's been playing with them for a couple years now, I think. I remember him talking about the biodegradable ones, but I"m not really sure if he's used them.
 
Chip, I hope you have lots of fun. I'm afraid that I am much more into airhard and powder blast so I don't know diddly about the airsoft.

Thanks Che. Justin, I'm kind of an airhard type myself. This is completely new on me, never played paintball or anything. I figure it's OK for him to shoot his friends so long as he's an Earth Buddy while he does it... and I can't wait to shoot him!

I reckon I'll take this to the Buzz and see if any of those youngsters do this stuff.

you oughta see the family reunions
17 kids , (between the 3 sisters )my 6 and then nieces and nephews, not even counting the cousins
so
we get 20 to 30 kids together and shoot the heck out of each other, only bad effect
i lose out on at least a case of safety glasses when we get together
sure fun though,

i got nailed bad by one of our wonderful actresses.....she pretended to be out of ammo and hurt

untill i put my piece in my pocket, then she nailed me several times b4 running away

Mick says: Biodegradable BBs take 'forever' to degrade, but the accuracy is fine. Be sure that the weight of the BB is compatible with your AEG. .20 or .12

Buy the BBs from Airsplat. Airsoft GI's cust. service is poor, shipping is slow.

Che says: Make sure they're not in your pockets when you throw them in the wash. At least in MY washing machine....the little holes that let the water drain out are exactly the same size as these ^%&$# little things, same for those little metal air gun pellets.
