Hazmat class today for my firefighter I cert. Last thing to do for it, but it's the hardest test yet....lots of pointless memorization.

Pipe broke on my veggi oil cleaning set up and spilled 20 gallons of oil onto the garage floor. Winter arrived and we have gotten about 3 inches of snow so far, hopefully I will get to plow. Time to go stir the kitty litter!

Pulled my first shift as a cadet today at the local fire station. Started fire academy last week. Class on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings till November. Have to pull three shifts a month doing ride alongs. And maybe I will get a job with them someday....at least I get certified as...

Got accepted into the Fire Academy here in Steaboat...first class tomorrow! Wish me luck.

Great story Cody. I worked out in California Park for the FS my first summer here in Steamboat. Did trail crew. It was tough sometimes and boring work, but it took me to a bunch of places I would have probably never visited. Got to do carpentry on an old FS cabin out in California park too...

I'm heading to the next town over, Craig! Whittle The Wood Fest is going on today. Chainsaw carving, classic car show, beer, and music. AND there's the best IMHO Mexican food in Northern CO there.

Been cutting Beetle Kill Lodge Pole Pines for the last week on a golf course here in town....Fell the tree, cut the tree, chip the tree. Getting a little boring and dusty! And it was about 90 today...talk about hot for the mountains. Tomorrow is a nice change of pace...Huge Willow removal...

Yee Haw! Have fun in FL, if the weather permits check out some of the springs down there...one of my favorite pass times. I think Wekiva Springs is near Orlando, or there is a bunch of springs near Gainsesville. Have fun!

well Class from 8:30 to 2:45, then pizza buffet for $2.99 at Hungrie Howies, then free PBR at a local bar from 9-10. Oh, and I got an A on a huge paper for one of my classes. Awesome day!
