The Legions of Hail stormed the ridge again, in several waves. Now it is returning from the north, dark and angry.

Had quite the squall line form up and move over. Looked like it might actually get exciting... 20240325_171917.jpg 20240325_171944.jpg 20240325_172001.jpg
Arizona isn't exactly known for tornadoes, but they do happen, I took those photos a few minutes ago. The funnel broke up, and there's no warnings for my area that I can find. Right now, the haul has increased in size and intensity and we have lightning now too. An interesting day, so far as the weather goes.

Got a total of 5 inches of hail yesterday. Not snow, everything is little balls, from miniscule to half inch. The first few inches fell and melted, but by night time, we had 3 inches of it just sitting. Last night, a finer coating of more snow like material coated everything. More moisture in the forcast today and we already had a few flurries this morning.

This was yesterday evening.

Tuesday, a tempest in the west gave us some serious winds. I was shacked hard while deadwooding a big oak, left and right, back and forth, up and down, with all the time the feeling that one of my tying points was giving up. The chainsaw on its lanyard was swinging around like crazy. I was span tied with two lines between a top and a big limb, when an other big limb in the middle smacked me. Or I smacked it, hard to tell.
LOL afterward, but it wasn't comfortable at all at the moment. I didn't finish the tree and quit at 15:30. Today was much quieter.

Today I went to work 80 km north of St. Petersburg. There is still a lot of snow here. It's a good thing I haven't changed my winter tires to summer tires yet!)

There were several adventures along the way. The first is that I miraculously avoided a collision with a moose that was running across the road, the second is that a stone that flew out of an oncoming truck smashed the fog lamp of my car ( - IMG_9842.jpeg

Bright blue skies, almost no wind for a change. Already t shirt weather at 0800. We'll see how long it lasts, I'm not getting my hopes up, I know better. This weekend is supposed to bring more wet, thus more mud. The road is trashed, the yard is a mess, but the forest needs the rain.

Decent weather today even though it’s a bit chillier than I’d like. At least it’s dry. We’ve had enough rain for the month as far as I’m concerned

Storm starts up tomorrow and through Friday. Might get snow. So....

Raining here. Again... It's off/on showers now and tonight, but it looks like it's gonna clear for the next few days. Rain's getting old. Never used to be like this.
