I didn’t know @stig was a birder. I’m not super serious about it but I pay attention to birds, and wildlife period. Have been known to take a picture or two. Jack is a friend I met on my sky island where I escape the heat in the summer.

This Agave, aka Century plant, at the University of South Florida campus. They only bloom once, and it takes 10 to 20 years.

That is cool. I forgot about it til you posted. I've never seen one, but I remember reading about the unusual bloom when looking up agave once.

Those stalks make awesome walking sticks and staves. Properly dried, they're feather light and iron strong. Can't do much bit dry and seal them, so you've gotta deal with the taper, but they're tough.

No frosts yet due to all the rain so I got some Tree Dahlias for a change.
I used to grow them in Sydney and brought a couple up years ago. About 12ft tall.

Dandelions are fantastic! One place I rented back in the 90s had a backyard that alternated between yellow flowers and white puffs. It was almost a solid carpet; kind of like your picture up there. It looked great, and was a lot more fun than grass.

First bloom since planted for mothers day.
One if my personal favs. Got it for Katy. I had two in AZ at my entry walk. Love the color and fragrance.

An internet search says it's Dame's Rocket. If anyone knows otherwise, I'd like to hear it.
